I’m sick of our players talking big about winning stuff when we’re not playing anywhere good enough to do so. If they want to win silverware, do it on the pitch and not going off to talk about it to some journos.

You’re bang on here. It’s getting to the point we are better cashing in on Eriksen and rebuild a new midfield and style.

Lamela is such a strange player. Has a great attitude and a lot of people really like him, yet he just consistently fails to produce. He flatters to deceive. He could go too.

I’d like to keep Winks involved though. He’s really coming good.
Agree although today wasnt his worst performance I dont see him improving any further, Trippier can go, Erisken is already gone based on his last 4 performances.

do you want him out then?
I’m not saying I want him out but we will not win anything with him as our manager

The teams he puts out are baffling, we have been scraping through games this season.

How would you even describe our football?

Also proving how much we miss Alli's big game mentality. that lad really is a winner, no matter how poor he's playing

We won’t win anything under poch

Sadly I am starting to agree with you
Especially if he is too blind to see this squad doesn't need investment which is what @JJetset alluded to in Jan.
Big summer ahead and what damage to our budget if we don't get CL football, I fear we are in for a rough summer

Go into the NLD at home as underdogs ... that's how fucking shit we have been the last two matches.

Exactly, this run of results has been a long time coming, we haven't been playing well for a long time now, the odd half a game or so excepted. The lack of draws has massively helped mask it and I still maintain the lack of transfer activity has hurt us.

Looking at it with half a knee-jerk eye, Sissoko, Eriksen, Moura, Lamela and Llorente could move on and we wouldn't miss them. Eriksen and Lamela can be superb but it now feels like it's not often enough, it's possible they've given us as much as they are going to and its a shame, Eriksen can be so so much better but he's just not doing it. If we're looking to change the mentality, that's where I'd start. In midfield.

We play too many passes backwards, play ourselves into corners too often, look laboured going forward, the link between defence and midfield is broken, it's to feet and back, to feet and back all the while letting the opposition close you down bit by bit until we make a mistake and the link between midfield and up front is double broken, it's all too slow, too methodical yet there's seemingly no method, we take too long to do anything, it's poor to say the least.

I'm also starting to worry that Pochettino has (and I hesitate to say it) gotten as much as he can out of a number of the squad and with a some of the players starting to age, it's a concern when you consider the apparent reluctance to spend money.

Very worrying times. There's probably so much more to say but it's late and I'm not sure I can be arsed to carry on :D
I agree completely with this, a squad only lasts for around 5 seasons before players age or stars move on. Squad building happens over several windows too so not buying this season looks very foolish. Also I think we lack that magic player, not the fabled pace that everyone harps on about, but a VDV, Ginola sort of talisman who can create magic in tight spaces.

You only have to see some of the names in our Squad to realise how fortunate we are to be 3rd.

Tripper, Davies, Sissoko, Llorente, Moura, Lamela, Dier, Aurier, Wanyama

None of those get in other top 6 teams. You could even include Lloris.

We have a handful of top players, at best.

We play average football. We have no pace. We play narrow.

It’s either Poch, Levy or both of them to blame for our current situation. We need to invest so much just to stand still for next season.

Quite frankly, I’m fed up of it all.

I can’t wait for the stadium. But I’m not sure what sort of team I will be watching.

Lamela is like you have a tenacious defender doing a job up front because of an injury crisis

Yep, it's worrying how often we look utterly clueless on the ball. The only way we seem to be able to build an attack without individual brilliance is through playing it wide to Trippier for him to attempt a cross. Other than that it's all just hopeful.

And just so, damn, slow. Do we even do anything in training to try and rectify this?
It's fairly recent. This season, essentially. Yes, we've always been patient in the build up, that's the way we play under Poch. But what I can't fathom is where the incisiveness has gone. It's all well and good being patient in the buildup but there has to be a final objective as well, i.e. scoring goals.

Is it jadedness, tiredness, what? I hate to think it, but could it be complacency...?

Eriksen really needs to sign the contract or just fuck off.

His performances in 2019 have been nothing short of embarrassing.

He’s lucky our squad is so shit so we can’t drop him.

we really need more depth. we just dont have the same quality on the bench when we go through a string of injuries like we have lately. have we played the same starting 11 back-to-back since christmas?
