Have we had one good striker since Berbatov left? Besides Ade last year I don't think so. The list is painful to look at. Off the top of my head:

Bent
Keane mk2
Crouch
Defoe
Pav
Adebayor
Saha
Dempsey

Maybe it's time we fired our striking coaches and also brought in some quality strikers finally for once.
He is not a striker ffs, never has been or ever will be.

Id rather play our striking coaches to be honest. Get Sir Les up front and get Clive back. Apart from his admittedly well taken goal yesterday, Ade did the thin end of fuck all except wrestle the defenders face every time the ball went to him

AVB often refers to him as "playing up top" or sometimes as a striker and calls our formation 4-4-2 when Dempsey is played centrally which would make him a forward at the very least.

About the same time as he came on yesterday (around the 70th minute IIRC) Basle had the ball the basically nearly the rest of the match. Not all his fault admittedly, but a striking correlation.

Pav was good when ge got the chance, but he never did. 1game form start then next game on the bench and so on during the hole time here. And it was the case when he scored alot aswell...

HA HA HA.

Agree, Pav was shit, the only time he ever looked good was if he scored early in a game. Then he would put some effort on. Other than that he spent his time wandering around the pitch not making runs, not challenging or pressing the opposition and generally being a lazy cnt. And occasionally scoring blinding goals.

People loved him because he said that if he wasnt a football he'd be a truck driver like his dad and get pissed all the time, not because he was good when he got the chance.

He's not, but we've been playing 442 all season so I guess you could say that's where he's been playing.

It's sort of been a hybrid 4-4-2 / 4-2-3-1 I reckon, the wide players have been playing higher up and more centralised, and one of our forwards has always dropped into the midfield zone rather than your classic Defoe and Crouch sitting on the CBs 4-4-2.

Dempsey sort of plays a support striker role, Bale plays the 'I'm the boss I'll play where I want role', Defoe plays the 'false 18 role', so false in fact I barely remember he's there.

That genuinely made me chuckle.

The problem with that list ItsBrois, is Pav, Bent, Keane2 and Saha never really got a run in the side which is pretty important. Bent and Pav actually got quite a decent return in goals per minute, better than Crouch and Defoe, but none of the strikers got enough goals.

As good as Berba was we have to remember that he didn't really scored that many either.

Shush you, Jenas is gone, we need a scapegoat.

At least JJ worked hard to earn his scapegoat status. I wouldn't mind but there are plenty of better candidates.

Thankfully my love of Brad means that I'm neutral

He's our worst player bar none.

Yet he starts and plays a full 90 minutes.

I would honestly rather Bentley be playing for us.
