Need someone to play on the right? Dempsey is available!
Clint Dempsey could be in line for loan return in January with Fulham, Everton and old club Tottenham keen

There are plenty of options for the Seattle Sounders striker - and he could be in line for a return to England
Short-term return: Dempsey scored over 50 times in six years in England to become the Premier League's most-prolific American goalscorer
Clint Dempsey may be on his way back to England if he can secure a loan switch in January,
writes Tom Hopkinson of the Sunday People.

Former clubs Fulham and Tottenham are ready to battle it out with Everton for the signature of the USA captain.

Spurs sold the 30-year-old midfielder to the Seattle Sounders in the summer and have first option on bringing him back for three months during the MLS close season.

Dempsey will weigh up his options in December and make a decision based on where he will get the most first-team games.

Everton have exercised the short-term loan option before, securing the services of Landon Donovan from LA Galaxy on separate spells in 2010 and 2012.

He's not even close to our starting XI so I don't see why would we want him? WTF media..

Not worth it. Dempsey has been average since returning to the US and would offer us nothing. If Donovan is looking for a loan, that would be a different story.

What position would he even play? I can't see really.

Maybe AM or striker for U21?

Well, we'll have already played both Manchester United fixtures by the time he could actually join. Therefore, I don't see the point.

As a Yank, I'm contractually obligated to love Clint, but I don't see why we'd bring him in on loan when we have players like Lamela struggling to get minutes. He burned his bridges with Fulham but maybe with the new American ownership they could work something out for him to go there for a month. I don't see Everton biting when things are going well for them now and he's not really a Roberto Martinez kind of player.
