Apologies for the SportWitness link earlier. Here is a "real" news link.

Tottenham have reportedly identified Real Madrid starlet Dani Ceballos as the man who could replace Christian Eriksen, should the Danish playmaker leave this summer.

Eriksen has been linked with a move away from north London, with Real Madrid believed to be among the teams chasing his signature.

Spurs failed to bring in any new faces this season but Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign Ceballos over the summer, according to Spanish paper AS.

AS claim Ceballos has decided to leave the Bernabeu this summer following the return of Zinedine Zidane.

The 22-year-old, who scored three goals and picked up two assists during 34 appearances for Los Blancos this season, is keen to secure more playing opportunities.

Eriksen, meanwhile, is out of contract next summer and has yet to sign a new deal with the Premier League club.

Knew as soon as I saw the article that it was rubbish.

Just not of the required level for what we need as a Eriksen replacement.

I could have sworn we had ITK about interest in this lad last summer... Did I dream it? Or, we did have interest but are aiming higher now? Or the ITK wasn't from Herc to begin with?

Thought very similar thoughts. I'm sure I've absolutely read about our interest in him before. Though that could have been just via people discussing on here, rather than actual links?

Can’t say it’s too much of a shame. Looks like the Spanish Tom Carroll.

Lots of talk on twitter from a few questionable looking sources (foreign journos) on this one at the minute. Not sure if they're even worth bumping the thread for, but as we've had some ITK in the past there could be something in it?

In a society of bullshiters he would be chief among them. A 5 second search of his name and Tottenham (or any team for that matter) will uncover an ocean of wrong information. No earthly idea how he maintains a job.

Ah okay, have to admit I'd never heard of him. There was also something from Di Marzio, but I was fairly certain that was a terrible source too.

Sorry to anyone popping into this thread expecting anything other than disappointment.
