Another season without a trophy, all hopes of a Champions League spot vanishing over the horizon and those of a prurient disposition looking to see how much worse it can get for Jose Mourinho.

'Tight ship' is indeed the phrase that comes to mind when one thinks of Daniel Levy.

Or something very close to that anyway.

Looks like not only did Daniel want a wall of sound at the stadium like Dortmund he also follows Dortmund's very prudent transfer policy.

Over last ten seasons according to Transfermarket.co.uk , Dortmund's outlay on transfers approx. £592 million , income £ 681 million.

Just for comparison over same period Spurs outlay £662 million , income £544 million .

They really are a lot of tight mean gits at Dortmund you wonder why 80,000 people turn up every week for a team that won't spend fortunes to try and compete with Arabs, Russians and Americans .

It's not so much the amount of money but the way that it's spent that I find a bit frustrating. I know that people will say that to get top players, you have to spend the money but are we getting the best out of our scouting network? The general consensus seems to be no.
