Probably available in January for knock down price,i believe he is a good goalscorer and would suit our system better this time around. He played his best football in the counter attacking Charlton team. I know everybody would like the Cavani's and falco's in this world but being realistic we could also stretch to another midfielder if we got Bent cheap enough.

I felt he got a rough deal when at Spurs, and suffered from our four striker policy, but I think the 'discontent' in the papers with bent not being selected is hypocritical, because when he was playing they were pointing out he touched the ball less times than the mascots.

If he isn't scoring goals he is not offering much else, and I think we have our poacher in JD. While we do need another striker, we need someone who can bring something else to the plate than what we already have, or at least someone who combines good hold up play with goals, or ability to play in the hole and lead the line.

Seriously though, he can't hold the ball up or link play. He is an unintelligent striker who is only suited to being the big fish in a small pond where everything is set up for him and every player on the field looks for him and plays to his strengths

He's the type that will flatter to deceive and perhaps make himself look good while the team performs poorly, he'll never be successful in a successful team in my opinion and he is far from being what we need. I'd much rather we had bought Benteke before Villa signed him than resigned Bent when he's not even getting a game for lowly Villa
