England were all over Russia and could have walked away with a 3-0 win.

If they play the same way but create a few more chances I can imagine it will be a comfortable win.

Did I dream it or did Akinfeev make a Gordon Banks-esque save against Rooney too? (i was watching at a wedding reception without sound and acting like I wasn't watching so missed stuff)

Yeah pretty sure there was a spectacular save.

I genuinely confused why people are so negative about England. I thought it was as a whole a very good performance. We just needed to generate more chances.

There's one tactical option which I'm shocked no one has opted for.

There's only one player who has the energy, speed, strength and versatility to mark Gareth Bale. That player also naturally enjoys the right wing, so will be up against Bale's natural position. Obviously I'm talking about Kyle Walker.

England this afternoon should put Clyne at RB with Walker nominally at RW, but in reality as a man marker on Bale.

Bale isn't really playing on the wing for Wales, more behind the striker imo.

Also, Walker doesn't have the technical ability to Play as a winger.

Not sure I'd trust him man marking either considering how often he loses his man. He plays positonal for us so to suddenly ask him to man mark would be carnage.

Let's face it plenty of team nullified Bale against us so lets just play our game and worry about Bale later.

Strange comment by Robbie Savage on BBC Sport

Robbie Savage said:
"I've just seen the Welsh lads walk out. Simon Church, Jazz Richards, players who have played in lower leagues. Then you look at John Stones, worth millions and millions.

This would be the John Stones who played for Barnsley and who's most expensive transfer was £3m? Add to the fact he hasn't even played this tournament. Good example there mate.

I can't wait for spurs & guests to teach them a lesson.

BBC just showing why we should fear Wales. Fuck me if that is all they have then we should coast it. I hate it how we big up average teams. They have one bloody player.

Watching this Dele Alli segment makes me think we should give MK Dons another £5m.

Edit: coach has just said he likes Barcelona and could play there, fuck them!!!

Wales has a top 3 player in the world on their team who can single handedly get something out of this game. Especially since England is managed by Woy.

Top 3 is highly debatable.

He's well up there though. I think everyone knows it's Messi and Ronaldo top but Bale is in the host of players you would consider for 3rd.

If we play like we did against Russia I think we'll win, that was one of the standout team performances of the tournament so far........ This Wales team can be got at, get in behind them and there are goals to be had and I think they somewhat strangled the win in their first game. The only problem I can see is the familiarity between a lot of the players, this is like a local derby and that can sometimes be a bit of a leveller, it could become a scrappy 'british' game as opposed to a 'proper' international game.........
