Dele Alli is "upset" and "confused" at Jose Mourinho's decision to axe him from the Tottenham squad for the Premier League match against Southampton today, according to reports. The Telegraph claim the Spurs squad have been left stunned by the decision and are now concerned the England international could be about to leave the club.

"Franky, Diana would he shocked!", said a source close to the Palace. "Oh, if only Diana were alive, she'd show Jose how to line up a proper 4-3-3"

...probably.

I'm not as emotional about Dele as many other fans. He is young now, he arrived very young and had a big impact early on. He's given us many moments of brilliance. But fans have often excused or put a lid on his absolute weaknesses, and there has been a long time since last he had a prolonged spell of being an obvious first choice. In the current financial climate, I'd rather sell one player for a large fee and keep squad depth, than struggling with offloading a handful of others. And for him, he needs to experience something new.

Does he want to keep Dele Alli?
I want a balanced squad. (Can he be in a balanced squad?) Yes, he doesn't have to be sacrificed.

Jose on Dele Alli
I'm not responsible for the market. I'm not able to answer your question on that. I can only say I left eight players behind training. They are a big group and Dele was among this group. The same way a squad is a puzzle and in the same way so is the bench. I cannot have three wingers and a number 10 and then no defender. Dele stayed out but probably Tuesday he will play."

"Dele, you know our midfield is rammed atm and you've not looked happy recently. PSG have made an offer for you, it's pretty substantial and Daniel's said to test the water with you - would you be interested in playing in France?"
"Sounds like an amazing opportunity, I'd be an idiot to not see what they have to say"
"Yes, you would, speak to them and let us know what you want to do"
"Thanks gaffer"

Hate to be boring about it all.

If Dele was back to his best (2016-17) he'd be starting for us no question. I don't like the idea of selling a player who we know has that high of a ceiling.

I'd be happy enough if we sold him to PSG for 50m and we then used the money towards a move for Kalido Koulibali.

don't sell him... and if you do sell him the money better be reinvested in the squad... not just to break even on bale and reg transfers -.-

I don't see him going anywhere, surely Jose is just giving him the kick up the arse he needs..
In another thread I actually said I wouldn't mind if he leaves because he seems to have lost the heart he once had for the game and I'd be over the moon if he proved me wrong.

If he plays in the next two games and we see no reaction, it could well be see ya (if any takers) I would have thought but with Dele being Dele and having the quality we all know he has, I wouldn't be surprised if he put in two MOTM performances either.
For now, the balls in Deles court I would have thought..

I hope he is upset, I also hope it lights a fire under him and sends a warning to the rest of the squad. There's no place for weak mentality here, we've had it for years. We need fighters, not sulkers.

He's apparently a bit confused and upset... fine, but Dele is always upset... Dier had him to rights in that AoN episode. Plenty of huffs, throwing his boots, water bottles, complaining... but not always the necessary response on the pitch.

It's old school, but I don't mind.

He gave him a lot of love early on. Has it worked? I don't see the fire he used to have. So what do you do? You challenge him.

I was very optimistic on behalf of Alli this season, but I can see why it might make sense to sell. If he almost finances our window there is no way we can't sell. The same way we should have sold Dier for 50m.

Professional sports person upset at not being picked shocker.
Anyone should be gutted at not being picked, I’d be more concerned if he weren’t.
He needs this kick up the arse was he’s been coasting far too long

Jose is trying to motivate him, he had the arm around treatment and tbf Dele played well when Jose arrived he started scoring and affecting games then he has dipped again, now a bit of tough love, the question is how to get dele consistently good when he is playing well he is a top player, he has had injuries but i don't think Dragons right about the Poch factor i think its more likely form. Deli has the tools and showed last season for a spell he still has it talent.
lets hope he comes good, as i cant see him learning french to easily!
