This is definitely going on from both sides. I get your position, you don't want to be Harry Maguire-d (or any recent United signing) and being in the Championship for an extended period of time, if we make one big sale a season, it means we get to keep more of the rest for another season.

I will say Footy Insider is usually really on the money for Boro related stuff, much more than the local journalists etc. so I will think we will get there soon now.

Seems like it'll be a straight swap for Royal but I do find it odd that we're heading into a Champions League campaign and going for at least top 4 with a kid who has one good season in the Championship under his belt, and a guy who was considered one of our worst ever signings until a handful of good games at the end of the season. If Conte is happy then so am I but surprised a more established name wasn't his priority in this position.

Yea Doherty showed end of last season he can be class as a RWB, but is he good enough for a title challenge and champions League… I’m not so sure.

Put it this way, Perisic & Sessengon at LWB is far far stronger than Doherty & Spence.
