Bookies will take so little money on these markets that it literally wouldn't be worth their time. The amount of money staked on them wouldn't even be a blip compared to the amount staked on a single televised Prem match.

In fact I'd wager that all of the transfer markets over a whole summer would still be significantly less than is staked on a single Prem match.

Sorry mate but this is such an ill informed post, it's exactly the view the media and other club's fans portray. Levy has only sold our top players when he had no other choice, he held onto both Modric and Berbatov a season longer after they both publicly stated they wanted out if both had of been happy to stay I have no doubt they would have remained. Bale is the same and even when offered more money from United, Levy from what I know didn't even consider it.

The potential sales of both Walker and Dier are very different than Modric, Berbatov or Bale, neither are high enough profile to force a move and also as a club and team we are much better. If Levy sells either this window it's because Poch has oked the deal.
Walker and Dier are both England regulars I think that is pretty high profile. My point is not only should they not be sold but certainly not to two of our main competitors in City and Utd.Also you still have the situation of Aldo not signing a new contract and he's also pretty high profile don't you think?

Money is money.

Right and wrong rumours create interest. Interest that people will want to bet on. There's money to be made - and lost.

Looks like Matic is off to Utd so that will probably end Utd's interest in Dier.
There was newspaper talk (which of course is rubbish) saying United want both. Having said that I reckon Dier will stay. I hope so.

Looks like Chelski are going to rinse 40 mill out of Utd for Matic.
Never was convinced Dier would go and less chance he goes now. Herrerra, Pogba and Matic is their starting midfield

We would be idiots selling our key players to rivals. Dier Kane Alli Eriksen I would add Walker to that too.

We should be looking to strengthen the squad over the last two seasons we've shown we are capable of challenging however not yet good enough.

Sometimes you have to sell 1st teamers to let the understudies grow. For example, not selling Walker wouldn't be crucial as selling the other three as we have suitable cover in Trippier and it would help KWP to develop.

Surely selling Walker in the hope that Trippier and KWP improve to match or eclipse his status as one, if not the best RB/RWB in the Prem weakens us short term at the least?.

Understand we could reinvest, and maybe unearth an equal or better version, could also fail. But selling the best in the league so KWP can develop. ...into what?. A player we already have.

And to keep thread on topic, I'll add we must strive to keep our best players and this includes Eric Dier before CCV is mooted as ideal to replace Toby or Eric.

My own personal opinion is that KWP will become a better player than Walker in the long term. I feel Trippier if given the chance next season will be more productive and with a long run of games become a better player than Walker.

Saying Kyle Walker is the best RB/RWB in the league isn't much of a compliment as there's a serious lack of them.

Walker, although athletically sublime, as a footballer, defensive and attacking, at times makes the wrong decisions.

I don't think we'll miss him as much as Kane, Dier, Eriksen etc...

Weird Chelsea are willing to sell Matic who started pretty much all of their games last season?

Wonder if they have a replacement in mind.

Matic is pretty decent too.

Matic is terrible, he looked good for a while until he got rinsed in the 5-3 game only started to recover when he got Kante next to him. If Utd buy him they'll be back in the market again next summer at the earliest
