I'd be very surprised if this happens. BUt the bit that made me laugh was about spending time in La Liga to restore his confidence.

If he had been played against Newcastle when his confidence was sky high rather than away to Citeh, it might not need restoring right now!!!

Was it "sky high"? There should have been more space for EL to exploit against the likes of City. But sadly our Hugo had other ideas bless him. His bermp' on de head' came to the fore.

I dont know how any of us can say how the lad is feeling, at any given moment. We are far too removed.

We not really consider to loan out a 30m Pound signing to Swansea? he HAS to do it here and he can do it...ffs

It sounds a bit mental but if 6 months of regular games guaranteed gets him into the swing of it, why not? Think of him as 21 year old settling into the country and league rather than a £30m player. Not his fault how much he cost and it's not to our benefit to treat him according to his price-tag rather than his best needs.

I would say so yes, but obviously without knowing...

He had just come off the back of his best display in a Spurs shirt, a man of the match display, albeit a EL game, but it should have been enough to give him a starting berth at home against Newcastle

If I was calling the shots he would be learning welsh now.;)
6 months in swansea 'could be' great for him. Playing away from all the fuss and bother, well little bit anyway.

:) I said this could happen - it is not without its merits.

He needs regular first team football.
He is not going to get that at Spurs ATM.
Swansea would be an ideal match for Eric for to bed-in to UK football.
His price is totally irrelevant - he needs games.

Now we dont know if this media speak or not, but it does make sense on many levels.

For thirty million i'd expect someone a little more mature and ready to go to appear on the pitch to be honest. I mean you can't really compare Lamela to a Kane, Caulker, Townsend, or Livermore where you just shove them out to a club in need. Not a thirty million pound investment you don't.

To say that is "price is totally irrelevant" is plain stupid.

You just don't loan out £30m players

Why not?

Lamela is not responsible for his price and it has little or no relevance as to his current form and performance.
It is not his problem what, some IMHO idiot will pays for him. All he know is needs to play and get use to EPL football, everything else is, as I said, irrelevant.

EDIT A loan to Spain would be a totally self defeating.
PS unless of cause it was precursor to getting rid permanently

I'd love us to sign Koke, that would be a terrific signing but it makes no sense to send Lamela there though.
Agree from our pov but it makes sense from theirs to try and sign him on loan

Fucking joke if this happens, laughing stock of a club, shockingly badly managed club from top to bottom

Not really.... Hard to predict whether or not a player will settle into completely new environment.
However, it does go to show the level of risk connected to paying stupid money for such a young player when moving to completely different country.
I said a month ago that I fully expect him to be loaned out, but probably back to an Italian club.

Two words.... Andy Carroll

Liverpool spunked £30+ million on him and he ended up at West Ham on loan......

but Liverpool only signed Carroll as they had money to spend filling the void left by selling their best player in the same position...

oh....wait.....

Slightly different as Carroll was brought by dalglish signed him and he played well and Rodgers said he cant play football and sent him on loan
