A point will ensure that we stay in 4th after the next PL fixtures, regardless of the results (unless they are crazy).

Yeah looking at their team news, I must admit it definitely looks like they have an eye on their semi final on Wednesday.

Reasonably confident.

yeah the Everton fans are not liking the team, in particular Martinez choices of wingers

Personally I would have chosen Mason over Carroll, I think he can provide most of what Carroll can in regards moving the ball around but adds a bit more tenacity and drive.

However, Carroll certainly isn't a bad player and the criticism of him is a bit OTT. He has played well recently, he likes to show for the ball, find pockets and get the ball forward quickly. This will mean he concedes possession sometimes, because he is often trying to make a progressive play and make something happen.

I understand the concerns in regards physicality, but we have Alli and Dier in there as well. If we press well and then move the ball incisively and quickly then we should negate any physical disparity anyway.

I for one am looking forward to see what Poch sees on the training pitch every day in regards to Caroll/Eriksen. I can see the argument for the fast ball retention they should be capeble of, just hope they bring it... If we are lucky, there should be some very fast first touch triangles and 1-2s in this match, yum yum.

I sincerely hope I am proved very wrong. I believe Carroll is a crazy choice, and have addressed my reasons (lightweight not effecting games overall). He is in now so MOM or close will do me and a win.

So instead of build up of our game we are going to get a Chelsea wankfest for 30 mins.

the issue with the cm2 position is who will keep the ball in a tight situation. this is what dembele is so good at. both mason and carroll are prone to losing it. would have put alli there and son ahead.

I don't understand why he doesn't just play the lineup that smashed City off the park. Son/Eriksen/Lamela, with Dier/Alli in a CM2. It's beyond frustrating to see Son, after he won us a massive match, relegated to the bench again. Where are all people who were harping on about merit? Where's the merit in leaving him out and putting Carroll, who I believe created very little in either of his two league starts, where we played laborious, poor football (not all down to him) against Newcastle and Watford? Poch has been so much better about getting the lineups right this season than last, but it was around the end of January last year where he canned Dembele/Lamela and gave Townsend a run in the side that ended up in a major downswing in our results.

Oh as if that matters. We were also beating Newcastle until Carroll was taken off, but that didn't stop our "supporters" from blaming him for the defeat.

Honestly, some of our "supporters" are an embarrassment.

So are people allowed to not rate a player? Just to be clear.

Have a bad feeling about this game, watched a bit of Everton on Sky this season and they are a much better team than there league position.

seems unfair Mason loses his spot due to injury... he's been back on the bench for the last few games, but no start...

in Poch we trust... COYS!!!!!!!!!! :coffee::singing:
