I honestly think we're missing a trick with Kane. We should be offering him a 1 year extension to his current contract and making him the highest paid player in the league for those 2 years (within reason, not sure who's on the highest now, but about .5mill pw id say). It'd be enough to get him past shearer's record and it would really be long enough to see if Ange's system will yield a trophy or not. He gets an immediate pay rise. He still gets the free transfer but with the prem scoring record he could go abroad and not look back. And he'd still be young enough to get a contract on big money. And we still get another shot at convincing him to sign again in 2 years.
