Daniel is extremely unhappy thats all I've been told

Also Daniel put his neck on the line re Jose , Joe was not a fan of his style of play or the size of the contract he was given but Daniel felt it would guarantee silverware so this now looks very bad on Daniel

there are no break clauses in Jose contract I think a lot of his future depends on whether we feel we will have a full stadium in Aug and therefore can afford to sack him

Many will not want to hear this but 4th and a league cup win may save Jose just because of our current financial predicament

trust me - as shit it is for Daniel atm it won't get pretty with the fans if he has to continue with Mourinho because he can't afford to sack him

as if there is any chance of 4th or beating City in the league cup?
We are living in a nightmare as Spurs supporters, don’t think I felt this negative even under Sherwood?

How did that go? Did we turn up for it or concede in 30 seconds?

You do realise you can win games and not turn up to them? And you realise you can turn up late to a game and just sneak the win? Maybe like the Ajax game.

You can't just say we reached a "fucking" cup final so we definitely played well
So basically you're saying we lucked our way to a cl final. Makes sense...

You would NOW, you wouldn't have at the start of the season which is the point.

Still would have. Zouma I have never rated but the rest are better and more reliable.

Dier and Sanchez not good enough. Toby getting past his best. Rodon and Tanganga limited experience.

And that's before we get started on the full backs bar Reguilón.

The only positive I can think of if Jose stays for the next window is he can get rid of all the players he knows are not with him and shouldn’t be at the club, (winks, dele, sissoko, Dier ect) a very small positive though

Of course you would because of recency bias.

You must have forgotten how Chelsea were defending under Lampard last season
So you’re saying the right managerial change can inspire shit players to become good ones? It’s a radical solution but I’m prepared to try it.

Well, it aside from your personal ratings, the thing is Zouma is playing really good. I've been saying all season and also under Lampard that Chelsea in terms of quality within the backline has the best defence in the starting line up. That doesn't negate how well Tuchel has evolved the team, he is doing very fine job. But he isn't doing miracles, the inherent quality was always there.

I mean, I think we’d all understand of getting us into the champions league and winning a trophy got him another year.

Thing is, that’s not happening.

I just want to wake up one morning and it be 01 June 2019, drive to Stanstead, my thomas cook package not delay my flight (the first of the day) by 10 hours so that I can be at the stadium on time, and Sissoko not handle the ball in the opening exchanges. Since that awful experience of spending more time in stanstead airport than in Madrid on champions league final day, I’ve not enjoyed anything about this club. Not the matches, not the results, not talking about it on this site, absolutely nothing. I’m heartbroken.

Daniel Levy, master of negotiations.

Right ok. So you know exactly my thought processes and believe that recency bias is the only reason I say that?

Sorry but I would have taken 3 of them at any time in the last 12 months over Dier, aurier and sanchez.

I would have jumped at the chance of having a reliable defender like Azpilicueta.

A lot to dissect here.

But the most important bit is in bold.

This doesn't reflect badly on Daniel because he hired Mourinho. It reflects badly on him because he let the squad become stale by trying to win every negotiation and get the most money out of the players we clearly need to move on. Sometimes taking a loss is good business. Any basic management course will teach you that.

I am not slating his very clear business mind, but sometimes business and football need to be separated so you can see the bigger picture. We may lose 20-30 million value on the deadwood, but we will gain a lot more from achieving on the pitch.

Cut the rot before it sets in entirely. No matter what the cost. We could've lost a couple fingers and now it looks like we may lose the whole arm.

Having slept on it, and not going bananas like some last night (understandable), I just feel sick. My heart was hurting last night and it was a new low for us.

I think we can all agree that some of the players aren't good enough and needs to be sold, but Mourinho has to go with them.
It isn't nowhere near good enough, no matter how much you wanna spin it, and that people can't see that and stand by Jose and blame solely the players baffles me. Unbelievable really..

It's amazing that Daniel didn't know that it would turn out badly. He obviously isn't a member of spurscommunity

Been thinking overnight. There is no short term solution to this mess.

If the players are genuinely spilt into two groups, i know which group to lend my support to. The group supposingly behind the manager. Kane, Son, Lloris, Lucas, Peh.

Let Jose clear the other group of Dele, Winks, Dier and Sissoko in a season of 2 windows. Sacking him now will simply give the other group(even the most ardant fans want them gone), another chance at the club.

If football is still dour one season later, then Jose has no excuses and he can go then. There is no better time with the pandemic on-going.
