Did anyone see Gary Neville's testimonial last night? David Beckham played the full 90 and was ruddy brilliant.

Sure, it was only a testimonial and folk weren't all over him like they would be in the PL, but he showed more than enough to suggest he'd be able to offer us a great deal if we snapped him up for next season. His passing and probably still his mobility is superior to Hudd's; his crossing is unrivalled - an utterly sublime crosser of the ball, unlike our wingers; his temperament and attitude is brilliant; and he has the experience that none of our players do and that's a priceless commodity for a team trying to establish themselves in the 'big time'.

I'm not saying he should or would play every week, but as a squad member i can't see how it'd be anything other than a massive coup for us to get him.

He's also a massive hottie.

Him and Modric in the middle ahead of Sandro with 2 wingers and a CF would be interesting...

He's possibly the only leader over 30 I'd consider was a good buy due to his marketing potential as well as his influence on the training pitch.

Much better than Neville and Parker

Id sign him up just to make a few million in merchandising we can put that towards a super-duper striker then!

Influence on the training pitch? Remind me of the winning streak we had post beckham? Was it all the freelucks we scored that sent us on our way? :)

I'm sure plenty would be against it, but I think he'd be a fantastic person to have around the squad. Incredibly professional, dedicated, experienced football all around the world and there's nobody better at crossing and dead-ball situations. Get him in, help him finish his badges and then get him on the coaching staff - triffic!
