I shall be watching the women's match today, sandwiched in between England v Switzerland 3rd place play off and the Netherlands v Portugal final in the Nation's Cup.

Add to this India v Australia in the cricket World cup and the Canadian F1 grand Prix are on TV today also...looks like a bollocking from petticoat control for me.
Its irritating as the cricket will be getting to the important bit when all the footy starts...might watch the f1 highlights later on as I just can't fit all the sport in today.

Sort of day you end up flicking channels and not watching anything!

I won’t get a bolloking, the wife and I are not talking so she’s upstairs and I’ve got the TV to myself downstairs. Result ?

I use the soaps as my bargaining tool. Well I say soaps, she only watches Emmerdale now.

She used to watch Corrie and Enders, but we had a chat, ( well, I did ) and thought it reasonable that if there was any crying, arguing or shouting in the first 5 minutes, we wouldn't watch.

Surprisingly...we don't watch. :sneaky:

Take the gloom...to the other room. (y)

Italy vs Aus is the first game i have sat down to watch and was really entertaining, both teams going for it particularly in the second half and a late goal in the last ten seconds.

Nice to see we've got some consistency with the mens game and incredibly late flags for offside driving everyone insane.

Most of those flags shouldn't have been delayed. But then again, imagine the first game you've ever used VAR as a referee and it's at the World Cup. It would probably cause you to second guess yourself.

My point is most of the times she delayed the flag was a mistake. The calls weren't close enough to hold the flag. They were clear and obvious offside calls. But the AR was probably worried about making a mistake in her first ever match with VAR.

Looking forward to this one - will be better than the mens game today no doubt

I want Hope Solo though

Penalty England. Harsh but a pen, similar to the Sissoko penalty.

My thoughts exactly. This is the new workings of the game and I am sure unscrupulous players and coaches will be playing on this twist to get soft PK's

Who are the ones to look out for, in terms of actual talent with a football and those who are easy on the eye?

This is a very entertaining game. Some good skills from the England ladies and some very good crosses. I’ll be honest I’ve watched very little ladies footy but the standard is better than I thought.

Edit: wtf is with wearing false eyelashes while playing footy? I’m not a fan of them at all but while playing sport seems slightly ridiculous.
