It depends on many things...

Form
Fitness
Attitude
Opposition
Situation (Need goals? Need clean sheet?)

Most importantly, we need options and strength in depth. Which we finally have. But there is no First XI set in stone. It’s a dynamic and fluid thing!

Could have just shortened it to Form Fitness Situation.

Pretty great position to be able to bring players like Moura and Lamela off the bench, could be even better next season if we have Sessegnon in the squad instead of Sissoko.

For the last 3 seasons our squad outfield has looked pretty much like this:

- 19 players used regularly in the playing squad

- 6 crucial, core players starting almost all games
- 4 players starting most games and used heavily
- 4 regularly rotated full-backs
- 2 players regularly getting playing time but not starting much
- 3 players used fairly minimally in the first team

I think it's pretty obvious who our 11 best players are if everybody are equally fit and match ready. And for instance Danny Rose is not among them.
Disagree when both players are at there 100% best Rose gets LB for me. Problem is he ain’t so at the moment our best 11 LB is Davies.
I woulda say the same for Wanyama, 100% fit and on form it’s Wanyama for Dier, but again he ain’t 100% so Dier gets the spot next to Dembele.
The hard one is Son vs Lamela?

In not so sure at DCM any more. Dier quietly keeps things ticking along at the back in a way that Wanyama doesn't so much, and he can slot into the back four more naturally when the FBs go forward. But Victor offers a lot more forward thrust than Dier, and is just generally a more gifted footballer...
