Conte is right to be furious. The club absolutely have to back him up as well. UEFA and especially the VAR officials for this game need to be publicallly called out and asked to explain their decision. Questions they need to answer

  1. How can VAR call offside when it cannot see where the defenders foot is in relation to the striker?
  2. How can offside be given when a Sporting player was the last to play the ball?
  3. How can the VAR officials claim this was a clear and obvious error when it took 4 minutes to come to a decision?
There’s no way they can answer those questions honestly, without contradicting what everyone can see with their own eyes . Sorry but our club should get an official apology and those VAR officials should be suspended.

Also, why did they draw those idiotic lines in the first place? Isn't the automathic system the responsible arbiter for making such calls at the CL?

Doesn’t need to be clear and obvious when it comes to offsides. I don’t know why people still get this wrong

Everyone is wrongly talking about the ball going backwards. The point that everyone is missing is that the defender marking Kane is actually keeping him onside with his foot

VAR was supposed to stop all the need for conjecture. Now we have to wait several minutes for a decision and they still can't get it right. What a shambles.

Agree but my daughter draws better lines than those drawn..fact is it was too close to call and in my opinion if you are talking millimetres it’s should be umpires call (refs in this case) like cricket

Because they were sold a lie when VAR was introduced.
Offside is by definition black or white with nothing subjective about it, though. Hence "clear" and "obvious".
