PSG and Juve apparently doing a swap. Kurzawa for De Sciglio.

Not sure how Kurzawa fares these days, he was a kid with a lot of potential I remember, but De Sciglio is terrible. Mind you, he had a lot of potential too and his injuries really held him back.

£30m for a schoolkid.... a good signing....?

?

Have you seen him play?

He's 16 years old and has comfortably been Birmingham's best player when I've caught their games. He's costing United around £30m for a reason.

If they actually sign him, that is, cause it's gone a bit quiet.

Aren't Arse supposed to have a pre-contract agreement with Kurzawa? I got the impression from David Ornstein on his Athletic pod that player terms were agreed and the Arse would get him in the summer if they couldn't do a deal with PSG now.

Rooney cost 30 mil. This isn’t that high a price I feel.

Rooney was 18, had two PL seasons under his belt, already had over 10 caps and was called up for England for Euro 2004 when United signed him.

Even with market inflation since then it's a very big price tag.

Maybe. But IF it's not all agreed, then Juve will surely just come in and steal him. No way he prefers Arsenal.

Looks like Sander Berge is going to Sheffield
United for £17m. Quote a coup for them.

If it happens i think it's decent business from them.

A lot of big clubs have been looking at him but few wanted to take the plunge - some question marks over his overall ability perhaps but as a young player he has a long way to go and has many attributes which will be useful regardless of how he develops. £17m is not a massive gamble.

SU's recruitment has been very good IMO, they've got a lot of small named players but have played strong, aggressive team football very effectively, against a lot of tougher teams on paper.

How can a man go from my childhood hero to looking like he owns my local kebab shop?

Daniel podence to wolves looks to be coming to completion. This is someone we should of gone for. Looks incredible. Ripped us up when we played Olympiacos. Happy with Bergwijn but he's an unknown to me. I guarantee this lad will rip up the league. Very much in the Hazard mold. Wolves are going to be scary with him and Adama.

When UTD played sporting in the early 00s all the players where on to Fergie telling him to sign Cristiano. They should have done the same to Podence. He’ll be nowhere near his ability but he scared us!

I remember that someone on here was banging on about Podence when he was in Portugal. Good shout, whoever it was.

fucking hell, mate - Bergwijn is unknown to you because he didn't play against us this year for Olympiacos under no pressure and when we were defending like utter twats? Podence could go either way, he was the next big thing a few years back at Sporting Lisbon but nobody wanted to take the punt so he ended up in Greece. Now it's anybody's guess.

We should be taking these punts, I agree - but we are doing that with Bergwijn. I'm willing to give him a chance and not start him off on the wrong foot because he's not some Portuguese dwarf who hasn't even particularly pulled up trees in Greece. His YouTube clips do look great, I'm sure, as he is a flashy type.
