Brentford have signed Ivan Toney a striker from Peterborough. Must mean Ollie Watkins is available. Bang the door down Levy he is just what we want

They need to be careful not to buy too many players and especially for big money as they’ll expect to start every game. We’ve seen how that disrupts promoted teams time after time.

Well worth a bet on them to be relegated.

Spending a fortune on players on promotion is very, very, rarely anything other than a recipe for disaster. If they get drawn into a relegation battle, none of these new stars will give a crap and it'll just get exponentially worse. Seen it practically every season.

Not at 180cm tall we don’t.

Why? The idea that a striker needs to be a big lump is very outdated nowadays, as long as they are robust enough to hold off defenders (which is easier now as fouls are given a lot more easily) there is no need for them to be big as the ball isn't launched up to them as much.

Most of the best strikers around nowadays aren't noted for their strength/height - of the top ten PL scorers last season, only two - Kane and Jimenez - are notable for their strength, while the likes of Vardy, Ings and Martial (and Aguero and Jesus who were just outside the top ten) are all under six foot. I'm not saying Watkins would be a success necessarily, but not signing him because of his size wouldn't make much sense to me.

The archetypal PL goalscorer nowadays is probably defined by pace more than power, with Vardy, Aubameyang, Mane, Salah, Sterling, Rashford and Martial all in the top ten scorers last season. And a smaller, quicker striker would give us another option alongside Kane, although I suppose Son could already do that for us.

Arsenal are due to make a bid of €50m + add-ons for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar next week. They think they are getting better prospect than Ndombele from Lyon #AFC

With what we now know, I don't blame them for thinking that. Aouar is a bloody good player.

What, they just signing anyone called Rodrigo now?

Imagine the Director asked Bielsa who he wanted and the mad bastard just said "Get me Rodrigo!" but didn't say which.

Edit: I wonder if they'll be interested in our full back, Rodrigo Aurier? :cautious:
Well its worked for

Frankly I think we should ban the N word at tottenham

Chill mate. I’ve no clue who this midget striker is but I wanted to crack a joke based on the hilarious debates we have on player heights. You have my permission to ride the ROTLF helicopter

I hope we never see an N-apostrophe player at Spurs again we've been burned so many times now.

But without N's we'd never have won the League Cup in 99 (Nielsen) and Maurice Norman was rather good so let's not ban all Ns

❗Leeds United are in talks with Dinamo Zagreb to sign 18 year old promising Croatian Defender Joško Gvardiol. Price tag around €20m for the Croatian centre back. Another important target after signing Koch and Rodrigo - still working with Udinese to find an agreement for Rodrigo de Paul. ??⚪?

[ Fabrizio Romano,?]

If 18 year old croatian league defender worth 20m to leeds, how much foyth worth?

Well that sucks if true, wanted us to get him last summer. Kid has so much potential, way too classy for Arsenal. Aouar to Arsenal and Havertz to Chelsea is just really depressing. Hope both fall through. They won't tho.
