Intelligent footballer who I think would improve us. But I do think we could do slightly better.

Seemed to be a bit of a buzz on the site that shan't be named on this one yesterday, including Gards I believe who said two were incoming, and there has been a suggestion both were dutch.

I like Wijnaldum; clever versatile player who seems to be handy in transition, as shown in big Toon wins vs us and Liverpool.

Indeed, seems everyone on there knew about this.

Tricky player to pin down.

Got a lot of his production in only a handful of games and most Geordies considered him to be one of the worst of the "bad eggs" at the club. That said I liked him in Holland and he's definitely got some skills, just not sure he's the type of AM that we need.

I really rate this player. I think he would excel at our club. Would also provide great depth as he can play anywhere in midfield.

Looking at it in terms of depth in our squad, he would be a very good option on the bench or lets say if one of our mdifieleders are injured.

I really think those Geordie fans know fuck all about football then. They lambast some of these players for being "bad eggs" or not trying, but a lot of these guys were caught up in a maelstrom, inept coach for most of the season, laughable leadership at boardroom level, fans out of love with their team. The rot at the club came right from the very top and seeped down, can you blame a lot of these players, particulalrly the imports, from going from shocked, to bewildered, and losing heart very quickly?

More of an Alli type than an accomplished passer or dribbler. I guess we do miss 'goals from the midfield' and that penetrating threat running behind/arriving late on crosses, but I don't know, seems to get goals but not much else.

If the price is right I wouldn't be opposed, but there's a reason he went down with Newcastle, he has limitations.

It's a weird one because the Newcastle fans didn't like him in the end and thought he had much more to give than he was showing towards the end, but he had the reputation as being one of the nicest and best professionals in Holland before his move and was a big fan favorite.

I wouldn't be against taking a chance on him, think he could end up being great.

No thank you. Vastly overrated in my opinion. Wouldn't offer much different (in player style) to what we have, and to what we have waiting in the wings.

He was about the only player who performed for them last season, 11 goals and 5 assists from midfield in the league is an excellent record at any club, even more impressive if you're getting that sort of return at a mess of a club that got relegated.
