Glenn Hoddle believes Tottenham Hotspur are still short of being able to win the Premier League title this season. In fact, Hoddle believes Spurs could still challenge for silverware this season, and thinks they’re in the best position they’ve been in for years: “Can they (Tottenham) win the league this season? I don’t think they can win it, because I don’t think Chelsea can win it, Tottenham, Arsenal, all those teams below Liverpool and Man City.

Bet he wouldn't have predicted Liverpool's first couple of results either. There's a hell of a long way to go and all sorts of things that can happen.

Let's play well, grind out some results when we don't play well and then see where we are going into the world cup.

Gonna be a weird season. Just need to stay as close as we can to city. We'll give teams problems. Plus Kane is due a 25 goal season.

Seems fanciful that we could challenge but with this manager you would be stupid to write us off.

I think top 3 finish with a cup win would be a big step forward and hopefully something to build on.
personally I'd be happy with 4th, and significantly reducing the gap to first. That would be the big step. Just reversing the placings with Chelsea and still being 20 points behind the winner wouldn't really represent progress imo.

Talk of winning the league is still massively premature. Nothing wrong with the players aiming to win it- and I really hope that is their aim- but we still have a long way to go before anyone else would take that notion remotely seriously. Liverpool have started poorly but they have years of proven quality and Man City are obviously Man City. If Liverpool are still struggling in a few weeks time and we have been consistently picking up maximum points then the conversation will be different.

As a team we are capable of winning every game individually. But it's takes a ridiculously high level of discipline, commitment and mentality to win all (most) games one after the next.

We will be more consistent than last season for sure but we're just short of Liverpool. Man City are one level up from them even
