Sounds to me like it would be faster for spurs to set up a rival company and undercut Archway Steel, taking all their business and eventually putting them out of business.

Bit sick and tired of this tbh. The government lambast us for threatening to move but do f**k all to help us stay.

Just a thought, but we've been given permission to obliterate Paxton Road, right? Well, fine then, we just get on with all the bits of the plan that don't involve the actual site of Archway Metal itself, including tearing up their only access route.

Alternatively, elevate all the current plans on concrete legs just high enough that we can build above the place, then brick it in on all sides, except one gate that we control.

We have, as a club, been more than accommodating and have tried to make the transition as easy as possible for them, yet they always want a little bit more - that's the whole reason it's sat at this stage with nothing happening - it wouldn't even be with that department if Archway weren't so bloody greedy.

Not allowed unfortunately. Neither is sabotage but if you going to go all Beastie Boys they make it spectacular!!!!

They need to answer two very basic questions:

1) Does the area badly need investment and regeneration - Yes

2) Are any other businesses other than Tottenham likely to pump in the necessary hundreds of millions needed - No

Simples and not at all complex :)

'Complex' is initiating a £3Bn top-down reorganisation of the Health Service. 'Complex' is removing classic books from GCSE courses.
'Complex' is implementing the unfair bedroom tax.

'Complex' it ain't - making a CPO decision that's delaying progress on a pivotal element on the regenerating of a large part of North London.

The club/government should go halves and pay the Archway metal firm off and get on with it.

Are we ready to start on the construction? I'm sure we would have settled by now if it really is stopping works. Besides Levy likes to save a mil or two.

I'm sure our advisers have told us exactly who needs bribing and by how much. Yet we have let the application sit on someone's desk.
I do not think we are close to getting funding for this stadium, and that is the real hold-up.

Old cliche, possession is 9/10ths of the law. The owner of Archway Steel has already said he will appeal against any CPO that is granted.
Like "Whitesocks" above,I suspect securing such a massive amount of funding may be at least part of the problem?
THE ONLY THING that will make this problem go away in the short term is a substantial amount of ££££££££ sadly.

I thought the CPO had already been granted and that this was an appeal of the original decision.

Hi,
Not the way I read the article...
"
Tottenham MP David Lammy yesterday asked the Department of Communities and Local Government when it would reach a decision on whether to grant Haringey Borough Council permission to place a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) on the site occupied by Archway Sheet Metal Work.

The CPO would give the council the authority to forcibly buy the Paxton Road site,"

Says Lammy asking "when it would reach decision to place CPO"

I'm currently involved in a much more modest potential development site, which has been held up by the bureaucrats for over 3 years. The process is agonisingly slow and tedious. At least THFC have the option to offer Archway more money to go away.
