I wasn't being totally serious, I just couldn't see how to put a smiley in. The bit about him not ruling it out in the future and seeing how it goes at Schalke resonated with what GF said though which made me look for this thread.

Only two problems with that being that admin or GF said wasn't Draxler and also release clause not fir the 50m

This thread is slowly chipping away at my mental well being. In part of a dream I had last night Grey Fox came into the thread and confirmed it was Marco Reus and that we were signing him on a free (!?) in January and then the dream ended. I need help.

Would be very surprised if we weren't keeping tabs on Salah.
I believe we are keeping tabs on him but so are many other teams. £15m would be enough to sign him.

As for signing a £50m player in Jan. I'm willing to bet we won't! :)

Why the smiley face? Surely getting a 50 mil star player would be a good thing. I demand a sad face with that statement!

Not wild about Salah if we do go in for him. Not that it would ever happen, but I would be rather happy if we sold Lennon and Sig and brought in ether Reus, Draxler, El Shaarawy or Griezmann. Will Never happen but I get the feeling this thread is here of exactly that sort of talk.

Seriously, I think we just need a CB and a LB. Let the attacking situation go until next summer unless there is a bargain deal we can't turn down. We've got enough depth everywhere else to get guys match minutes and make a determination going into the summer in regards to who we want to keep and who we may look to sell.

Sell Naughton, have Vlad as RB back up, buy Zouma and Davies, Simples..

I wouldn't sell Naughton. The RB situation would then emulate what is going on with our LB situation (one legit LB and all other guys being out of position). I'd definitely keep Naughton to backup Walker. But, yeah, Zouma is my first choice for CB. I love the kid and the way he can dominate in the box. As for LB, Davies is a good option but I doubt Swansea sell in January. I think we could look elsewhere, maybe Ricardo Rodriguez. Sunderland apparently had a 6m offer rejected for him. I'd offer up to 10m for him and see if they take it, which I think they would.

Go all out for Umtiti and Howedes. That would be my preferred reasonable targets. Outside of that, pray for Madrid to fall out of the title race to give us a shot at coentrao

We have zero need for Salah. Our two best wingers are lefties who play on the right as is. If we need anything on the offensive side of the ball, it's a pacy, right-footed LW with a shot.

I never said we have a need for Salah, nor did i say we should sign him. I was simply replying to the other poster who mentioned his name. As for the left winger who's right footed and can shoot! Why don't we give Chadli a chance before signing similar type of players.

Jesus, you peered into my soul with that comment. Chadli was just starting to come on when he went out injured. Constantly gets into the box when off the ball, strong on the ball and offers a touch more pace and trickery than Siggy.

Left back is the biggest problem that we have. The lack of a natural left-footer in that position leaves the team unbalanced. It's such a shame that AVB lost faith in BAE. I fear that AVB has made a rod for his own back with the decision to loan out BAE. But imagine if Baines were to join us in January.

I don't see the need for another CB. We have four very capable ones. Of course Kaboul's fitness is a big question mark but he looks like he'll soon be back in the mix.

Up front we need to really find a player to unlock defences - either by scoring regularly or by setting up teammates. The thing is that we may have the talent on hand now. It may just be a matter of giving everybody the time to gel.

For my part I think the best is yet to come. We're flying high in the League and yet I feel this team can play so much better. The future is bright!

You know, we never really had a look at that left side with Chadli and Rose alongside the revelation of Townsend. Townsend came back to Spurs lookin a man on a mission, but his confidence didn't really take off until the Chelsea game IMO.

I've never seen a player/man/human respond so well to criticism on such a big stage. Massive man crush on the guy, and I'm not even English. Told the girlfriend last week she's more than welcome to have at him given the chance. Now if we can get it going on the left to a fraction of the imposition we're now presenting on the right, what a sight that will be.

Playing with Townsend on the right and Lennon/other on the left makes us far too narrow IMO, I like Salah as he is pacey and direct and seems to be more of a goal threat than Lennon in particular. As it stands now, our crossing/service for the likes of Soldado isn't up to par, I'd like to see Townsend on the left more, even if for periods of a game. We should switch it up more IMO and get the wingers crossing more on the run with their stronger feet.

I think it is suppose to work the way you have proposed. Last game, they switched, but Lennon kept sticking to the right side when he got there. During a break, NBC showed AVB talking to Lennon, and they seemed to have some major differences. I do not think Lennon fits into the system at all, and or he is being stubborn and doing what is best for him, and not the team.
