I'll miss the Euros not being on. Love a good summer tournament - even if England are crap or haven't qualified.

Premiership football I'm less bothered about. Not missing it currently.

There's also an interesting side effect to all this. There's a theory in psychology that people who are great at something perform better in front of crowds, people not so good perform worse.

There is indeed, my Mrs did a psychology paper on this earlier in the academic year, specifically relating to the impact of crowds in sport. Interestingly both positive and negative crowds have been shown to improve performance over no crowds. There are many cases in which that performance is far beyond what you would expect too.

What's interesting for Spurs i guess is that we were pretty shit with a crowd, so actually having no crowd should in theory be better for us, versus a team like Liverpool whose performance on the pitch was probably helped a lot by the crowd.

Of course it's theory and in the real world anything can happen, but could be interesting to seem some teams suddenly have a huge dip in performance due to the lack of crowds.

For the first time since it got postponed I’ve actually got a little bit of feeling of missing it today which given my previous comments in this thread has shocked me a little. Maybe it’s seeing our players back in training or maybe it’s the boredom and constant bickering with the girlfriend that has prompted it but maybe just maybe I want it back.

just finished watching “The last Dance” and how the Bulls practically built a team around Michael Jordan as they recognised he was a once in a lifetime player. I really wish we’d have done the same with Kane, who knows perhaps we might actually still do it but I think that’s where a lot of peoples love has been lost. It feels like we had our opportunity to make it big but for whatever reason we just didn’t grasp it and now the fear of slippin back to mid table mediocrity is very real.

Agree with all of that except the last bit. Mourinho is no mug, he knows how close we are and he will find a system and whatever players we can afford to make it work. I'm incredibly optimistic for next season.

No interest in football at the moment, and will be less interest when games are played in empty stadiums. Will be like watching training.

Theory in action - coach of Bayern no less.

I haven’t missed it as such but now that other leagues are starting up I am looking forward to watching the EPL again. Waiting another few weeks for it does seems ages away, even if it is behind closed doors for now.

Msybe if there were sports on, i wouldnt miss it as much. This was supposed to be basketball and hockey playoff time and baseball in full swing. There is nothing on and instead we’re watching charity golfing matches, ufc fights on the rare occasion its on and now recently, bundesliga. So yes, i am really missing the prem. I need sports back.

57% not missing football?

Why the fuck are you here? This place is turning into a US College Campus; just without the red cups.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the bundesliga starting up. Me and some lads are doing Zoom watch alongs of the Saturday games, with beers and bar snacks.

Watched the Bundesliga this weekend just gone, it's not even that bad. We'll get used to it because it will become the new norm.

Agreed its not as bad as people think just not as good as it was. People need to accept the new norm, pining for what was won't change things and this is likely to be what we get until next year anyway.

I had this same thought after watching the last dance but we have to remember basketball a 5 a side sport. We would have probably wiped the floor with most teams if we were a 5 a side team in the Poch years. Jordan trying to lead 10 other players on the court may have been a different story.

Have to say I’m not missing it at all and would rather the season was stopped. I think there’s a number reasons.
1. Frankly people are dying and football is not so important
2. I still haven’t totally got over Poch leaving and not a Jose fan. The football we’ve played over the last 20 games is just dull
3. We’ve taken such a step backwards this season from being a top 3 team to now being lucky to get Europa. This is probably the main reason

Appreciate your view but before Son and Kane got injured the football certainly hadn't got worse under Jose compared to the 20 games before he took over.

1. I agree. but 2&3 - yes we were not that good but the potential was there in places...I'm interested to see how we line up. Between now and September we will have had two pre-seasons...Jose has done it before...fewer injuries...I'm optimistic...then again, when it comes to spurs...I'm always optimistic, even when we lose. It's a weakness of mine.

Poch leaving though - always will be :-( thought he was going to be our Sir Alex, still can't believe it's over.
