The man is the greatest player I’ve seen ply for spurs on the the pitch and a bit of a bellend off it, so I’m not supprised

Disagree on both points. Although I can’t vouch for who you’ve seen.

He’s been treated like shit and deserves better and he’s playing a blinder. Good on him.

I’m sure he’s going to be the scapegoat for exiting the CL by the Madrid fans.

This is such a peculiar situation.
Bale was given a significant pay rise with his last contract.
But since then, he’s been marginalised by Zidane, for reasons unknown. This latest act by Zidane will surely have repercussions. He’s thrown Gareth under the bus by calling him out like this.
(If it’s true)
What’s strange is that, even if it is, surely other players will now question whether they want a private conversation with Zidane, or if he will turn on them in the way he has with Gareth.

Whilst I can see exactly why Gareth hasn’t just upped and left (the Madrid job is a revolving door, so any player can expect at least two managers during the length of their contract), sitting tight and playing the long game seems to have backfired. Zidane won the league so he has all the power.

Gareth needs to leave while he can still play at the highest level, simply to have the success that will prove real, Zidane and their fans wrong.
The game being played by Zidane is spiteful, but Gareth is the only one who can lose now. He won’t get another chance to play at the top level at the end of his contract if he runs it down. His career at the top, despite all the successes, will be remembered for this- the player who took the money not to play.
That just doesn’t do him the justice he deserves.

What Zidane is doing is massively weakening Reals position when it comes to trying to sell him though. They pulled out of the China move because they suddenly decided that they wanted a fee for him. Bales made it clear that he only moves on his terms and that he'll happily just pick up his pay check if they don't play him. I think he'll move this summer, but it will be to a club of his choosing and Madrid will probably pay him a fortune to leave.

Agree, although I think they had a fairly weak position for a while now. And remember the length of his contract is both a strength for the club, whilst equally restricting Gareth’s options, unless he takes a pay cut.
The problem is, who will want /can afford Gareth on that salary? No one that he’d want to play for.

Somethings got to give, most likely from his end.

I think he'll regret not playing the last couple of years of his career if he just sits it out. He is richer than anyone needs to be. But actually I suspect he really does put golf above Madrid. He can play golf for a long time.

Fair enough, can understand your side too. Who was the best you’ve seen ?

Personally I think Bale is fully entitled to be doing exactly what he wants. He's been treated pretty abysmally by Zidane and the Madrid hierarchy, despite giving them the prime years of his career and helping them to win 15 trophies in his time there.

Zidane doesn't want to play him, would rather bad mouth him to the media all the time. I bet Bale doesn't care, he's laughing all the way to the bank. And once his contract has expired at Madrid he'll have earned enough money that it wont even really matter for his next move. I could quite easily see him tearing up the MLS, hitting a golf course every other day for a couple of years until he retires.

Honestly everything about Bale at this point is just boring to me. Kane has also long surpassed him and Sonny is very close to as well.

I think it is genuinely sad to see him waste his footballing career. Regardless of whose fault it is for the current situation, it is not a long career. He has won most things in the game and has money to set himself and his family for life.

I just feel he has got 2-3 years left and his agent and advisors should be pushing him to leave. He doesn't need a massive wage but he has a chance to go and demonstrate why he is such an amazing player. Would have him back in a heartbeat as long as it was within our wage structure..

Zidane just comes across as a complete bellend and I really find it odd he doesn’t want to use Bale.

Bale has been an excellent player for them and wasn’t like he was off form or anything, Zidane just seems to have made his mind up for some odd reason and won’t be swayed.

Very poor man management.

I think its easy for peeps to judge however when it comes down to it who would not want to get paid 200k odd a week for playing golf!

Why would an advisor push him to leave so he earns less money?
He does not need to.demonsatrate anything to anyone, he has done it already.
Agree with the rest!

Hang the fuck on. Bale did not bring this treatment upon himself. Real’s fans always hated him because of a perceived rivalry with Ronaldo. Bale proceeded to win them multiple trophies yet still wasnt accepted and Ronaldo’s garbage time goals were/are more celebrated. Bale never really had a chance. He’s since been hard done by injuries and a manager who hates him. The final straw with Real fans was Ronaldo leaving which they blame Bale for. The fans have also been egged on by the media’s harassment of him. The only think Bale is guilty of was trying way too hard to be like Ronaldo. There is no sit down needed. The Madrid fans need to have a nice, long, hard look at themselves in the mirror.

With regard to our fanbase, I might be wrong, but I dont think our fans have ever openly hated, frothed out the mouth & detested the sight of a player directly after he signed for us. So no, we would never subject a player to the same treatment that Bale has received at Madrid or ever be pissed at a player for no earthly reason besides existing.
Mate, I live in Madrid, and I do not get the sense that that's it at all. It's nothing to do with Ronaldo. Though the fee they bought him for doesn't help.

Bale has been unfairly treated by Real Madrid fans, but he really hasn't helped himself at all. It's really not as simple as you make it out to be.

So funny RM courted Bale so badly when they wanted to sign him and now things changed for such a worse outcome.

RM was distasteful in this whole saga, but Zidane is downright disrespectful and unprofessional. He has become too personal in this issue IMO, when at least Bale has kept quiet all along. Bale had proven track records at RM all these years, scoring greats goals and winning trophies for them, he deserves alot better than these..
