I didnt mean how long do the board give him. They will obviously have to give him time otherwise they will look like fools.

I mean how long do you think it will take him to get to a point where he can say this is his team? With his ability, the way he likes his team to play and the personnel we already have on board, how long will he take to turn the ship fully around? Will it take him one window to do his ins and outs? Will it require a complete overhaul over several seasons, will we have to wait for the kids to progress? How long do you think Ramos will take?

If he turns it around immediately with better training and organisation but without King, then he really is proving his worth.

If we continue to leak goals and he needs King and a few more signings, despite havinghte support of the board, then perhaps he might not be that far ahead of Jol after all.

He doesn't have a very good record of staying with clubs. Averaging less the 2 years?

How long do Spurs hold onto managers. Jol was an exception to last 3 years.

If he's still at Spurs in 3 years time then I will be happy but I wouldn't bet on it.

If he hasn't out-performed Jol by the end of next season (minimum 5th, and a trophy) then he'll probably leave.

As long as he keeps us in the premiership this season, I am willing to give him 2 years.

is that the chronic-les of Narnia you have in your sig?

if it is, that's a qualtiy tune, i've got that as one of my ring tones:shrug:

oh, and i think we should start to see some of Ramos' Implementations around christmas, although the up coming international break will be good for him to get some things across.

I think if he doesn't get CL football by end of next season, the pressure will , and should be on.

They made clear that CL football is a minimum requirement for Jol, it should be no different under the new man.

Great point, bet you can bet your bottom dollar that a, he won't get us into Champions league (anytime in the next two year at least ) and b, he won't be sacked.

Goes to show what a shambles this board is. You have to give them some credit for the amount of money they have stumped up but the way that they have run the club at times has been a joke.

Convinced the main reason he is here is to create a better impression in the sales brochure .

Ramos will be around long after enic have cashed in .

It's so hard to tell with our board. They should really judge by the same criteria as they judged Jol, which means CL or bust. But, as others have mentioned, the amount he's getting paid means he'll walk before he's sacked.

Again, like someone else said, I would hope that they give him 5 full seasons, and support him in the transfer market, rather than overruling him, which is what they seemed to do with Jol.

Lets have some of this stability we keep hearing about, but never see any evidence of.

4 to 7 years, through the bad times and the hopefully eventually one day consistently good years.

Anytime less and we'll never build a top 4 team and we'll just be history repeating as per usual.

Haven't we done this one before? Oh well....

I don't think we'll finish top six this season. So that's 2007/08 written off, league-wise. So it could take him two seasons to get back to where we were with BMJ i.e. 5th. I can't see us going from 8th/9th to top four in one season.

So that would mean 2009/2010 before we could even hope to make another assault on the top four. Ramos would have one year left on his contract.

It could all be a brilliant plot by Levy to make sure that our first season in the CL is in the new stadium. But I don't think he's that clever.

All of which is a long-winded way of saying I think the likes of Levy and Comolli have pinned all their hopes to Wendy. So I don't see them running a whispering campaign to undermine him for at least three years.

The question with Ramos is whether he is a one trick pony. It wont work if he tries to play his usual game with the squad we have. So unless he can adapt his style any improvement will depend on transfer activity.

Fans wont see it that way; if results do not improve by Christmas they will be getting very restive.

Should it really, in serious?!? IMO the squad will change A LOT next summer and practically speaking I reckon we will have quite a different squad when the next season starts. It will take at least 2 seasons to build a new "winning" team. So personally, I don't expect much from the next 2 years when speaking about CL football and winning something.

Of course it depends on what kind of players we will sign. If we sign many proven qualities and already CL level players you might expect something sooner. But as we've seen it is more than difficult to sign many "world-class" players when you aren't in the CL already. And club's policy have been to sign young promising players and that propably won't change. So it will take time to build it up all over again.

Of course the first and at the moment the most important task is to stay in the Prem!! Then we have to wait what will happen during the summer. After that we can get back to this issue.
