Hugo Lloris netted a golden handshake of up to £2million when he departed Tottenham for the MLS last month. Having joined Tottenham in 2012, goalkeeper Lloris became an iconic figure at Spurs - making well over 400 appearances for the north London club.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, in addition to giving the France legend a free transfer ahead of his switch to Los Angeles FC, negotiated a settlement figure with Lloris for the remaining six months of the shot-stopper’s £100,000-per-week contract that was due to expire in June.

So instead of paying him the 2.4 million the rest of his contract would have entailed he left with a 2m settlement.

Damn that levy squandering all our money :cautious:

Good. The club saved money. Hugo got his move. And we treated an honourable servant of the club with decency and respect.
