I was in my local Tesco's (Cheshunt) picking up some food when I saw a fifa 13 booth and a small crowd. I went over to see what all the fuss was about and there was Dawson sitting at a table signing autographs and posing for pictures. I waited in line and got a pic with him (I will post it up in a bit) he was really smiley and welcoming to everybody. I only had a quick 30 secs with him but mentioned I was a massive Spurs fan and that he should tell AVB to actually play him. He laughed and said "I wish" and then my time was up. Seemed a really nice bloke but has the weirdest signature, it looks like a set of circular squiggles :p

My little brother got the opportunity to go to Spurs Lodge a year or so ago when Dawson was injured. He passed through on crutches with a man I assume was his agent, got swarmed by a group of 20 or so kids and their parents who had won a competition to training. His agent said him and Dawson were going to be late for a meeting somewhere at Wembley and tried to hurry him but Dawson said it's fine and took photos and signed everything for every kid that was there. Seems a real top bloke.

A top professional and a great defender, if only he had the pace of King. :(

I'm pleased he got a run-out last night, if only to retain some fitness and sharpness, but I think he'll be gone in the Winter Window.

I like Daws, dont get AVB on this one, as I thought Daws looked the best player in pre-season.

I think so as well, he is way down on the list of our CB starters and its best for him to be able to play elsewere.

He is rightly behind Vertonghen and Kaboul. Caulker probably already a better player too. Looks a much more athletic defender. Dawson was, pre injury, Englands 3rd choice defender. He is no mug, and I'd much rather see him, one of our own. be 4th choice or playing ahead of Gallas, who like Friedel is good, but limited in certain areas.

I agree i would have him in front of Galls, however i do not think AVB does and seeing as we would get a good price for Dawson ( nothing for Gallas) i think its best for him to go somewere he will play.

Ah, yes lovely Daws.

I wish there would be an opportunity for my girlfriend and me to met him for 5 or 10 minutes. My girlfriend is a massive Dawson fan and unfortunately only interested in Spurs games when he is playing. So at the moment she doesnt care too much ;) . Would love to organize a litte meet and greet for my girlfriend, me and Daws as her birthday present. But doesn't seem possible. No chances really, nah?

You would let him shag her wouldn't you?

Again, top bloke, good player but not right for the system. I prefer him to Gallas but he's 4th choice atm and he deserves to be playing. It's great that he can still take the time out for his fans even at such a tough time though.

He's a perfectly good fit for the system. He was in pre-season and he's a highly capable CB who can adapt and play how his coach wants him to. Don't believe the hype just because people have said it.

Met him a couple of times outside the lane and he's the only one who smiles when you get a photo with him.

Top bloke.
