I want to see CCV stand in for Eric Dier

Admittedly, I've only seen a small amount of the lad, but Cameron Carter-Vickers is tall and good in the air, tactically astute and positionally aware, has a good tackle on him, a decent set of skills and range of passing, and seems mature beyond his years. He seems purpose built to 'do a Dier' and step up from CB to DM - and we know Poch is willing to give the kids a shot.

i want to see youth players given the best chance of succeeding, throwing them in at the deep end and out of position isn't doing that. nor would it be fair on the likes of veljkovic/amos/lesniak who all have far more experience in playing as a dm.

I would rather it being detrimental to him than not dropping him being detrimental to the club in terms of success

he's played as many games at dm as he has at cb, well for spurs at least. anyway veljkovic is as good as gone so no point banging on about him anymore.

To add to this when he went out on loan he played as a DM and he had some standout performances there

I don't think Alli expects to play every game. He's not first choice when everyone is fit anyway.

I dont think Alli himself feels it is detrimental to him. And i dont think it will set him back big time. He should not be expecting to be a permanent fixture after coming straight from the 3rd tier.
