I wonder what will happen to Spurs when?

when JL kicks it, if he still owns Spurs when it happens.

has he got a big family?

the biggest worry would be is instead of selling us off, they might just go about selling our best players year in year out without replacing them to earn a decent crust, but do enough to keep us in the EPL (hopefully). I know DL being a share holder in ENIC would still have a big say, but as the main provider JL's might have the final say, and fuck DL over

Isn't his daughter a massive Spurs fan?

I would imagine she will take over his role when he dies

I've been wondering many things this morning and I have to say this wasn't one of them. Hope you're keeping well Joe.

Could also go the other way and his daughter puts all his money into the club although I wouldn't be surprised if they sell us after the stadium is complete and things settle down.

funny thing was, I was reading the new stadium update thread, when this dawned on me.

with DL having quite a big stake in ENIC and Spurs and JL not getting any younger. if anything happened to JL before we finished the build, and his beneficiary decided they wanted out, what the f would happen:eek:

Levy said he wants to make us one of the best clubs in Europe, so he definitely isn't planning to go anywhere.

Joe Lewis doesn't own the club directly. Enic is the majority shareholder, which is a limited part of Joe's multi- company Tavistock Group. Therefore it is more than likely that there is already a plan in place for the survival of Tavistock and it's interests in the event he dies and that the club won'tbe directly impacted (at least in the short term anyway).

They would still be bound by whatever contracts and loans were in place.

mind now at ease, even though JL will most probably out live me

When those takeover rumors were going about it was said that Levy would be kept on by the new lot, I could see that working but it's all speculation. I know you don't like some of the things he's done but with different owners behind him who knows what would happen, new owners won't make him better at finding managers unless we throw loads of money at one so lets just hope Poch works out well while the stadium is being built. Stability on the pitch will make the transition so much smoother, the worst thing that could happen is a new manager comes in while we're playing away from White Hart Lane!

When JL moves upstairs so to speak, it will still come down to money. Spurs are a well run club, that makes a profit in the best and most lucrative league on the planet . We will be bought and that can go one of two ways , Chelsea/man city were profit is not the point , winning things are. Or as we are making money treading water . Hope it's the former

If UEFA enforces fair play in its current form or makes it more stringent, were likely to be in the top earning clubs in the league. The reasoning behind my reasoning is the wording around the new ground suggested it's a "365 day venue"... add in the NFL 10 year deal and we might be quids in. If the City's and Chelsea's of this world can't be propped up by sugar daddies, then clubs that actually turn a profit will be in a better place, while that won't affect behemoths like Madrid and Bayern, it will mean clubs can't spend silly money :)

I doubt Tavistock group would be in a hurry to shift a prestige asset, more likely they would look to use it as collateral to borrow funds and expand further.

if Lewis was to kick the bucket tomorrow, then I have very little doubt that the stadium will still be built.

Simple fact is that keep or sell, Spurs are a much more attractive and valuable prospect with a 61,000 seater stadium than without it.
