One tiny glimmer of consolation with these situations it's that at least it's one less player to keep happy not getting much time on pitch

It is a position that we have a lot of competition. Hopefully son recovers quickly.

They should have the u21 tournament the same summer as the senior. So you have to pick which one they can enter. Will reduce burnout.

@DanielCHillier any reason for the disagree? Not a negative so not worried about the rating just thought i might have missed something?

“Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason and Son are still out - this is the same as a few weeks ago,” said Pochettino at today’s (Thursday’s) press conference

“Sonny’s injury was in his foot but it’s ok, we’re happy with him. Maybe in a few weeks he will be back.
“How many weeks? One, two, three… I think he’s nearly [ready] to come back, to start training with the group, but you know every injury is different and we need to assess it day by day.

ouch. Don't understand why Mason and Bentaleb are still out if its 3 weeks or so since they were 'almost ready'

Exactly! He really is vague when it comes to injuries :banghead: He has been saying for weeks they are nearly ready now suddenly they are both out & no updates on their progress either.

I fear the same is gonna happen with Son, I don't expect to see him until after the next international break, tho I thought Mason & Bentaleb would be back after this one from his comments but they aren't, so who knows :banghead:

And physioroom put Mason & Bentaleb back again. Now returning on 25th October and Son coming back 2nd November. Guess they will be out longer. Totally mystery. Poch telling week for week they are close and no one in sight. Our CM looks terrible with Dier suspended.

Dembele, Alli, winks and Carroll.

Extremely light

Why do people look at Physioroom as some sort of important source? They just guess based on information the club has released.

FFS I knew the "son" injury would be one of those............ Typical Spurs PR, as transparent as photo processing room.

Always the same, for years now. No idea what is really the situation with these players
Also, it seems worse than ever with Poch in charge of giving out updates. He really is the' font of no information'. I find all of his press conferences and after match interviews incredibly dull and quite frustrating. I don't recall him ever saying anything that made me think oh that's interesting to know or that's something I couldn't have worked out myself.

Really showing us up for not signing that defensive midfielder in the summer now.

Not really. It's just extremely bad luck that 3 of our 4 missing players are CMs.

We've only got 4 CB, 4 FBs, 2 GKs etc., so we are not light in that position

As soon as the Club announced Son was injured, and were vague about it...you knew it was going to be longer than just a few weeks.

Pray he's fit for the NLD. We'll be ok without him against Bournemouth and Villa.

If not it will be after the next International break, which is an age away ffs.

I just hope Son hasn't picked up the same injury that Lamela picked up when he first came. A vague foot injury (in Lamela's case was his back) that keeps Son out for months.

You can't really put a time frame on a lot of injuries so the club would be silly to name dates for player returns when it could easily backfire

True, but they do tend to put out somewhat optimistic comments which give the impression that a return is imminent and then it is a let down.
