I stopped following Italian football after they scrapped the Sunday afternoon Channel 4 show.....still remember it as one of the best ever presented football shows on telly, where the coverage was neutral and "pundits" didn't spend the entire programme drooling over the greatness of certain clubs (in red).

Just checked the Serie A table and was pleasantly surprised to see Lazio doing so well. I then went through their squad and was even more surprised to read the name of a certain Lucas Leiva ...... turns out Liverpool fans were right to bang on and on about him when everyone else thought he was plain s**t

Used to love that show, don't get anything like it these days. As you say, no neutrals anymore. I can't stand MOTD these days, dreadful punditry and bias towards certain teams.

What's also intresting is their number 10 Luis Alberto is also ex Liverpool. Tbf he only played 8 or 9 times for them. But he's leading the league in assists and generally one of their best player's

It would have been amusing to see an Italian version of Gazzetta Football Italia covering English football during the 90s.

A stylish Italian sat outside a shit pub reaking of piss...an oversized pie and a pint of muck on the plastic patio table next to him. All while pointing out the crap in our tabloids interspersed with highlights featuring such quality as Villa, Oldham, Sheff Wednesday, Swindon and the rest.

Not sure if i'be just been lucky recently, but there have been some cracking games on TV recently from Serie A. Goals and attacking football :)

Serie A suspended until April 3rd, after the international break. All European competition games with Italian sides still to proceed behind closed doors, and the internationals haven't been called off yet either.

This is dramatic, how on earth are they going to manage to finish the season before the Euros? They'll most likely just have to call the whole thing off in my uneducated opinion.

Serie A now suspended until at least April 3rd. Very, very hard to see how they could possibly finish the season - even if it somehow resumes on that date there just isn't anywhere near enough time to play it out before the Euros are scheduled.

Nothing in the rules about what happens in respect of title, who qualifies for Europe. who gets relegated etc.
Being Italy, will probably be decided by who pays the most bribe money to Italian FA, so Juve then

I can't see it being resolved any other way than that the league table at the time of postponement will be the final league table if they can't manage to finish the season, and that will determine title, European places and relegation.

It isn't "fair", but it's better than nullifying the season altogether.

No, it isn't. If Serie A nullifies this season it sets a precedent which when coronavirus becomes a problem in the UK allows the Premier League to deny Liverpool the title and the rest of us get to laugh our way through an epidemic.

Imagine being a Lazio fan and the league is called off. Lazio and Juventus are divided by one point. "That one time Lazio nearly won the league".

I like the way you're thinking.

If they can't finish all of the fixtures how about a match between Roma and Juventus to decide the title?

Need to hurry up then, Liverpool only need two more wins. Could be over next week...

Italian Federation say they are discussing 3 options

1. Cancel the season, award no winners, and the Federation will decide who plays in Europe, and who gets relegated and promoted (maybe even not relegating any team, and having 22 temporarily in Serie A next year)
2. Extend season to May 31 and just cram in al the games
3. Stop season now, take current standings, and hold sort of play off for winners, European places and relegation.

I think 3. is the most likely tbh.
