Grealish won't leave Villa this summer now unless someone offers 60 mil or so. He's not worth that. I think he's good, and would be better in a better team, but I don't think he'd be first choice if everyone was fit. Even now and hopefully we will strengthen.

It surprises me when people say he is unproven in the Premier league as it isn't true, he made his name in the premier league and almost single handedly kept Villa in the Premier league as a teenager and had they had just one other player good enough to contribute anything at all he'd have managed it.

They can't just go throwing money around because they have access to it.

Him at 40m or lo celso at £55m easy choice to make there. English players premium is a joke.

English premium is for two reasons. English clubs don't want to sell as staying in the prem is worth far more. Secondly english clubs have a lot of money to spend.

He started 9 games that season, and scored 1 goal, 0 assists. Villa finished last and were 17 points from safety.

Well look at you and your bloody facts - can't you see they're getting in the way of a really appealing narrative?

Shameful

p.s. I keep laughing about this post, probably my favourite of 2019

They have a huge boost to finances so even with ffp can spend a large amount.

Agreed, but their new owner's wealth doesn't mean they can go nuts. They will benefit from a legitimate increase in revenue though. They have so many areas where they need to upgrade though.

They should have played him more often then and they would have done better, I stand by my point that he proved himself good enough for the premier league though.

The reason we had no chance signing him last year was that the incoming buyers made it a condition of purchase that he was kept. They've got cash, £20m, £40m - it didn't matter to them. They knew they couldn't just buy a player like him that would play in the championship for them. The deal died when they bought the club. We need to forget about it.

I'd let it go mate
No worries I'm fine with it, guy made an excellant response and I'll take that, it wasn't how I remembered it but there you are.
What I do remember is him bursting onto the scene and making an impression and he left me in no doubt that he is a premier league player and I stand by that, I don't agree he is unproven and I think that is not a good argument.
