His movement inside and outside the box is insanely good. The perfect player to have when the game is stretched. As said before very underrated a brilliant signing if we were able to convince him to come and Utd to let him go.

Erikson/Lamela in behind Hernandez? Sign him up now!

Sandro/Paulinho/Capoue/Dembele
Lennon/Townsend/Lamela/Eriksen/Chadli/Sigurdsson/Holtby
Soldado/Hernandez/Adebayor

Any combination of that is a match for any first XI in the league.

You may want to revise that opinion when we see what the squad looks like in four days time!

The likes of Eriksen, Lamela et al will certainly address the issues of better balls being played into the box.

So glad you said that, Mr P. I read the posts & thought to myself, "have these guys not been keeping an eye on the news for the last 24 hours & seen the 'creativity' we are trying to bring in?"..

Would LOVE him to come to us but

1) Utd would never sell to us

2) I doubt he would swap one bench for another, would only come if he was sure to be a starter IMHO and that won't happen with Soldado there

Apparently United are willing to sell, from reading their forums Moyes doesn't fancy him. He would get more game time with us. He can play anywhere along the front 3. I'd love him.

And I think his appearances numbers are deceiving. He came on very late a lot of the time (and still managed to score). He appeared in 22 league matches, averaging just over 43 minutes per appearance (8 of those < 20 minutes).

he averaged a goal every 95 minutes last season. avb seems to wants strikers in the "do nothing else but score" mould so hernandez would be perfect for that.

And he plays "bigger" than he is. 9 goals from headers last season. I was actually surprised when I saw his listed height.

Can't see it to be honest, but I do like him as a player. Does have that Solskjaer thing going on, hard working, good technique, team player, no ego.
Looking at the rest of our squad this year, I would be happy with Soldado, another quality striker and Kane as no.3. Last year I wasn't so keen on only having Ade and Defoe as our only two strikers, but this year we have create depth to share the burden.

You sure about that? I don't see him in any position accept central striker, just a penalty box player like Linekar.

That's a fair point. If we start getting the ball into the box regularly, then a he might score goals for us. That being said, no one really knows what the squad will look like at the end of the window. Very likely we will add that necessary creativity, but things don't always work out like they should. That being said, I still believe he isn't the guy we need. He needs a crowded box to make the most of his skills. United like to throw him in late when they are down a goal. They pack the box with four or five players and have their full backs and wingers pump the ball in to the box. He excels at finding that space and being overlooked by center halves. When played up front by himself, he becomes isolate, which sometimes happens when he plays for Mexico. He can't wriggle away from the center halves, since he is their sole focus. We never seem to have enough players in the box, because most of our midfielders like to sit outside or come in late, so he still isn't going to get the service he needs. I think we need a true number 9 to give us an option off the bench. We need somebody that allows us to switch it up, not a less variable version of Soldado. I think Rodrigo would be a much better option.

Duncan Castles saying he has turned us down

Wouldn't surprise me if he has, but Castles is a terrible source. Very unreliable.

Be surprised if this happened, links are thin, but we should've been sniffing this time last year.

He's played there in and around RVP and Roon at times, to be fair on the guy he has never really had a chance to establish himself. But yes predominantly he is a striker. All my mates are United fans and they are all saying NOT A CHANCE IN HELL he's out injured ATM with a torn hamstring.
