Isco, Willian, and Dzagoev could all be options.

All have the ability to play on the wing as well as more of a conventional #10.

Willian is the oldest of the bunch at 24, Isco at 20, and Dzagoev at 22.

All have been off to good starts which is nice to see. It will be interesting to see where Shakhtar and Malaga are at come the January transfer window as they should be out of the CL.

I still think Willian makes a lot of sense as Costa is ready for more time, and appears to be the odds-on favorite to replace Willian.

Willian looked brilliant against Njoradjalkdjaljand in the first match of the CL group stage for Shakhtar. If I can ever figure out if it's okay for me to post the cut-up on Youtube I'll link the highlights (Had all of his touches/runs/etc. in a clip).

I think you missed out a 'j'

Jeez, how did you work that one out? :meh:

Well, I'm asking because Erikson would imply that it could be either a Swedish or Icelandic talent that I had not heard of, Einstein. Norwegian and Danish names don't end in -son, they end in -sen, which is one of the reasons I wanted to clarify, the other being that I don't see how on earth Eriksen would be an upgrade on Sigurdsson.

Didn't he have a few good games for Swansea?

I saw him score but I didn't actually see him have any noticeably good games. And still haven't. I've seen him do the odd tgood thing, make a good pass, but I've yet to see him have a "great game".

Eriksen is three years younger than Sigurdsson and is a regular in the Ajax side and now playing regularly for the senior Danish side. He was unimpressive in the Euro's, but I wouldn't judge him too harshly, he was a young kid playing in a weak team against three of the best teams in the tournament. It was very hard for him to shine. If you'd watched him for Denmark under 21's playing against his contemporaries I think you'd be more impressed. I certainly have been. The kid has real talent and plays in that hole where VDV used to. I don't think he's the same as VDV, probably won't ever score as many goals, but he has great technique and good vision and delivery especially for one so young.

The point is though, surely, if he was turning in blinders every week, or the finished article, we wouldn't stand a fucking hope in hell's chance of landing him. It's only because he is not the finished article that we may have a chance.

Don't really want to give this blog(ger) airspace, but these quotes are interesting. Pini Zahavi. New, old or just agents being agents? Trying to save face or his arse?

“I will not hide that there is interest on the part of Zenit, and we will analyze their proposal in January! Zenit is a very strong team, who may be the next step in the career of Joao.”
“However at the same time we have to take into account the interests of Joao! Any footballer would like to play in Barcelona, and this option is a priority for us. In my opinion the style of his game adapts perfectly to that of Barcelona. In addition he is a fan of the club”

IIRC Moutinho got rid of Zahavi and replaced him with Mendes (AVBs agent)

Must admit I thought so as well. Now talkSPURT are quoting the same thing. Probably same source though.

Got to say though, I think as much of that crap from them as the site I originally quoted!

In A Bola (Portuguese sports newspaper) today Moutinho says that he is happy at Porto and didn't comment on rumours about a move in Jan. There is even a suggestion that he needs to resolve a situation regarding his agent. Possibly Zahavi out and Mendes in as has been mentioned.

"I decided to stay because I believe in the project and I'm happy '- Moutinho

João Moutinho ruled for the first time about the decision to stay at FC Porto. Coveted by Zenit and Tottenham in the last close season, says midfielder who opted to stay for feeling 'happy' dragon's chest.

"I decided to keep me because I believe in FC Porto, the team we have, our value and our quality. I'm happy and I want most is to win the Paris Saint-Germain ', underlined the player, adding: "I chose to keep me in FC Porto for believing in the project of the club, I decided the best for me."

Confronted the alleged statements made by Pini Zahavi to a Russian newspaper, in which the entrepreneur admits the possibility of Moutinho moving to Zenit in January, the medium opted not to stretch the comments.

"I have nothing to say about it," is guarded, not realizing it was still represented by Israel: "It is a situation that is not yet resolved."
