I see some Burnley fans are complaining that Hart didn't want to be backup for them (wanted playing time) but is fine being backup for Tottenham. Do they not realise that potentially playing a few cup matches and Europa league for Tottenham is way better than not playing any match for them.

And living in London and working under Mourinho with a potential to win something...why is there even a debate?

Why?

If he signs I really can't see a downside. As a No 2 for a few years he seems a good buy to me.

Was absolutely brilliant years ago. Remember David Silvas debut at WHL. Hart was unbelievable that game

Slowly took his eye off the ball and imo has pretty much lost the plot

I might be doing him a massive disservice but strikes me as someone that became very unprofessional once he’d 'made it'

Not a player or personality I’d like my club to look up to

Plus he’s been an extremely poor goalkeeper for a number of years now...

Fulfills an English quota, going to be 2nd/3rd choice so he's hardly going to play anyway, leader, experienced.

I don't see any downside whatsoever to this transfer.

It's a good signing. Heard an interview with him recently where he wanted someone to believe in him. Keepers need confidence and I'm sure he can get back to a good standard.

Also, he's a winner, and we need more of those in the squad.

Except that it blocks
a younger kid
from our own Academy.
We must have one
to be third choice surely.

Hart will compete for second spot. No one is being blocked, particularly if we sell Gazzaniga.

The fact that we've bought 2 senior keepers as backup in the last few years suggests that the keepers coming through aren't worthy of a place on the bench.

Isn’t Burnley stuck in the 18th century? Not a difficult choice is it. ?

I understand and I don't know enough about any likely candidates from the ranks to judge
That's over 3 years since we haven't produced a kid good enough
to even sit on the bench.
Is that true and if so isn't it a worry?
I know 'it is what it is' but still

Yeah it is a bit shit, incidentally though how many young keepers are coming through at our rivals or indeed any other Premier League clubs? It seems to me there's a dearth in talent amonst home grown keepers in this country particularly when you compare them to other countries.

Still remember the days when British goalkeepers were the best : Ron Springett, Bill Brown, Gordon Banks, Peter Bonetti, Pat Jennings, Peter Shilton, Mervyn Day and Ray Clemence. Those were the days that British football relied on big CF acting as battering rams and the goalies had to deal with them from a young age and they learned to boss the six-yard box and beyond.
