Clasie has won two full caps and is a regular for Feyenoord who may be willing to sell him for around £5m when the transfer window opens.

He impressed for during Holland's recent victory over Hungary in the World Cup qualifier and now Spurs intend to maintain their interest in the coming weeks, according to reports in the Mirror.

Looks pretty decent for his age. All action tackling and passing. Definitely worth a punt at the reported £5m even if just an upgrade for Livermore.

Clasie would be a fantastic signing. From the videos I saw he really looked like he had that eye to pick out a pass. Maybe AVB will envision him as a Moutinho to mold.

I'm going to plead complete ignorance on him - what's he like as a player? Is he CM? Could he function as a playmaker?

Very happy about the profile of player that we are being linked with recently. Players like Clasie, Maher and Hermann are targets that I can get excited about....largely because I could actually see them coming! Players with big potential on the verge, rather than those already in the star bracket, are what we should be looking for. It's what we used to do and it's what helped us make the leap from also-rans to regular top 4 contenders. Had we been doing more of that in recent seasons then I suspect that we'd be in a much stronger position now and wouldn't be having to make bids of over £20m for a single player like Moutinho.

I hope these links aren't all pie in the sky and that we will indeed look to take a punt on at least one of these guys come January - before their profile rises too drastically (see Isco).
