I like that one player has thrived by going overseas and now that's considered the move every single player should make. Maybe that one player is just a world class talent who would have made it regardless of being in England or Germany.

Or maybe it makes sense for young players to trust their talent and go abroad if they are guaranteed first team matches at a decent level, rather than wasting time out on loan or in the reserves of a big prem team.

Whilst im not against players going abroad, im tired of the narrative that these players need to go abroad suddenly to have any chance of making it. Theres been plenty of players who have not kicked on going abroad as an example Reece Oxford where as players have continued to make it in the prem. People are acting as if going abroad is now a sure thing because Sancho did it but reality is theres been 6 or 7 who have gone and only he is thriving.

I think it's a good move for the lad.
It wasn't long ago that English players were lambasted because so few dared move abroad. It's good for both professional and personal development.

Years ago there was much angst that Spurs had not signed Connor Wickham. The club's reason for not doing so was that they did not want to block the route to the first team of a promising academy player called Kane.

And look at how Wickham turned out...

So much for our creepy voyeuristic monitoring. Sounds like a cracking deal for Bordeaux, buttons really money wise. Fabulous city too.

I was coming in here to say the best business we could do is sell Llorente, sign Maja and Rabiot but seems like Bordeaux have shit all over my cornflakes.

Bordeaux definitely just watched Sunderland till I die. No chance they’ve been scouring league one, the virgins

Well, fookety-fook.

I opened this thread and was expecting to bathe in the glory of being the keystone of our club being able to sign a real live professional human footballer person.

Expectations of being courted by a bevvy of grateful foxy females have been dashed.

Sunderland want to replace him with Will Grigg I think, replace one cult figure with another. Slightly different players mind.
