Agreed, I would be content with having him as our backup RB next season. It's a shame he hasn't been given a chance at RB under Mourinho, as I think he already has as good of a skillset to what Davies offers on the left.

If anything, he should be loaned, not sold, especially if we're planning to sell Aurier, KWP, and only sign one RB.

But the question is whether Foyth would be content being our backup right back. I don't think he would given how many times he's been left back.....if you know wha I mean

Hahaha love it.

He has said he would like to fight for a spot here recently in an interview.

I should've said "one of our right back options" instead of "backup" because certainly he could make the position his own if given the chance.

I agree that Foyth could do it better because of his height; but he has the weight problem: he needs to grow his muscles. Sanchez has the same height but he's 10kg heavier (idk if "heavier" is correctly in this sentence, sorry); and that's a problem in the box, when you need to fight for the position with stronger guys than you.

If you see the statistics of Foyth, or any young player, you'll see this problems. But that's the point to be a good manager; it's supposed to you to see the potential of the young players, despite of his statistics numbers. But Mou doesn't work in that way. He's a world class manager, of course, but he's a buyer one. And that's OK. But, imo, I prefer managers who have an eye on the young guys.

How were the statistics of Kane in his first season? and in his three first years? How about the statistics of Van Dijk before 2016? Sure, there're exceptions like De Ligt, but he has what Foyth doesn't: ten Hag; a former coach. Of course, I'm not saying Foyth is the next Sergio Ramos, but he has potential to be a world class defender, just need time, minutes, confidence and a good manager.
I think the stats are fine, but not good. I personally expected them to be better. The idea that he might be a bit soft in the air might have validity, but the same can be said for Toby. Sanchez is pretty awesome in the air, very strong at winning headers, so comparing the two isn't fair. We don't disagree.

I have no idea why people keep going on about him being converted to a RB. Have we seen anything to suggest that he will be good enough? No. He needs to leave at this point so he can play and not waste away his career. Loan to a PL club as his last chance to prove himself or just sell him and use the money to get a real RB. We have 5 players a head of him in his position, we don't need him.

He started at RB for Argentina all throughout the Copa America.. He also performed brilliantly at RB against Man City in the league last year. Poch was reportedly planning on utilizing Foyth at RB last season but he was injured / regaining fitness pretty much until he was sacked.

The point is he’s arguably shown as much or more of a capability to play fullback than Tanganga, who is a common shout on here to deputize at RB next season. Yet Foyth is written off by nearly everyone.

And Kim has played in the CSL for one season. I’d say Foyth has proved himself on a higher level.
And I repeat, Foyth has only proven that he’s not yet ready. I’m not saying Kim has proven anything, but what Foyth has proven is not good.

Personally I’d see us give CCV a real shot, his exceptional loan at Luton has proven him at a higher level than either of these guys and he’s as young as Foyth. But what I do know is that Foyth should have played a lot more football than he has, and it’s stifled him. Particularly as, being a slighter style physique for a centre back, he needed that time to develop the cognitive functions which would compensate for that lack of physicality. Even then I’m not sure it’d have made a difference. When I think of the best ball playing centre backs I’ve seen, they were also all units.

People do realise Foyth is Argentina's first choice right back, you don't get to play there without some physicality and ability. In my humble opinion it's only injuries that have held him back and he has a better footballing brain than Aurier

A little generous there in my opinion. While you’re right in that Foyth had a brief run of games filling in there and played well to his credit, it’s by far Argentina’s biggest squad weakness and when available Montiel would be the first choice.

Sometimes our fan base reminds me of those hoarders you see on those Channel 5 documentaries with the piss stained news paper piles.

Don’t agree with this.
Kim mingy is a significant gamble because he has absolutely no experience in a European league. Foyth has some, within which he has shown promise, and some rash mistakes.
Likewise, Ccv has only had experience in the Championship.
Its just as likely to expect similar errors from both ccv and Kim as they get to grips with the PL, and equally does Foyth a disservice by refusing to acknowledge his(anyone’s) ability to learn from these mistakes.
Of course, we haven’t seen it yet because he’s been injured/out of favour

Totally agree that he needs a PL season loan- like Walker /Rose did, making their mistakes on someone else’s goal difference. Hopefully he’ll get it at Leeds, replacing Ben White

I think he’ll be sold (or loaned out) because quite rightly he wants to play games. I don’t think he wants to be a back up option any more from the sounds that are coming out around him.
