Keenan Ferguson has confirmed on Instagram that he has completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur following a successful trial period with the north London club – following his release from Sheffield United earlier this summer.

Ferguson, 20, is naturally a right-back and was a constant member of the Sheffield United Under-23 side last season. Spurs have lost Kyle Walker-Peters this summer to Southampton, though they have brought in Matt Doherty from Wolves.

Only on a one year contract and signed for the U23 team. Let’s see what Spurs intentions are for him

@IGSpur any thoughts?

He played well in his trial matches as in he was one of our best players.

I think they just see him as initially filling a role in the absence of Hinds. Give him a one year deal as we have no other top RBs for the foreseeable future. He does, well we extend, loan him out or even give him a chance in the first team or look to sell and make some quick money. Gives him incentive.

He he doesn't do well we release, him and assess our RB options next year.

What makes it somewhat shrewd is while I rate Hinds very highly, his lack of chances in the past or apparent chance in the future, meant he'd overgrown u23s and stagnated. Like Tanganga and MV before he left his performances for the u23s were essentially just going through the motions so getting in someone hungry playing for a top club can only be good. Means our u23s will have someone running around and hopefully might encourage the others to have a bit more energy.

ITKs (Hercules?) said a couple a days ago that there might be some U23 and U21 coming in to stregnthen that part of the club.
