I've been thinking this for a while, as far back as I can remember, we've had that perennial problem of missing key players for extended periods of a season due to injuries. This season has seen us seemingly avoiding this problem.

Granted we've had the likes of Walker out for a while, but he's the only one that really sticks out for me and, if we're honest, he hasn't been a key player due to the sufficient coverage in that position with Vlad, Dier and Naughton ably deputising.

For me, this is a combination of coverage, rotation and superior fitness that the club, and in particular Poch, have implemented, not to mention that we don't appear to have the injury prone players that we have had in the past.

Well done the club. It just goes to show that keeping the players fit and well aids in consistency, allowing the understanding to develop in the squad as the players get more time together on the pitch, both training and playing.

I remember reading an interview with Schneiderlin on here a few months back, and he mentioned the lack of injuries Southampton had due to Pochettino and co.

I agree, it has long been a big frustration for me, and this season we seemed to be able to keep our key players fit, or at least if they are injured only out for a minimal amount of time. There is a lot I am liking about Poch tbh, and this is one of them.

Given the amount of games we have played already this season, credit should go to poch on his good squad rotation.

Also look at how many late winners we are getting. The players are not just injury free but a lot harder working and fitter than other teams.

Funny how the papers now are so darn silent about the fitness regime under Poch that they claimed would create unrest amongst the players and make Poch unpopular amongst them
