Sky Italia report Spurs are interested in signing Leandro Paredes with AS Roma willing to sell this month.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma would be prepared to sell Paredes for €30m. That can be reduced to €25m plus €5m in various add-ons and bonuses.

Spalletti: “Paredes is a great midfielder, the perfect playmaker. He showed no desire to leave. If the club has to sell in order to balance Financial Fair Play, then that’s another thing to be evaluated.”

Highlights of his time at Empoli last season...

Wow some player. He could rise to the very top.

Juventus are trying to get a deal done for him

You gotta give it to Juve, they basically just plunder the league for all the best performing players each season. They dont hang about. Bit like the way Bayern do things in Germany.

Can't see us bidding for him today, more likely to go for it in summer as long as he doesnt bugger off somewhere else first.

Checked him out on transfermarkt - down as defensive midfield as main position.

Thought I'd just throw that in here lol.

Just from the youtube vid he has some incredible vision and plays the game like an adult playing against kids. Loves to take a risk though and on lots of occasions I thought he was lucky not to be giving away free kicks. Add some work rate to him and you'd have a hell of player.

I think we could do with another player who can bring the ball out from the DM position. Winks, Dembele, Paredes and Wanyama would be very good CM options to have (assuming we stick with 3 at the back)

Spalletti today: “Paredes? We live in the same apartment block so we got to speak. He told me ‘I don’t want to go anywhere’. If we succeed in transfers even against the will of some players, these words pleased me."

There are a lot of reports that Roma are looking to secure Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie for a Summer move; fee reportedly around £25m. We were linked earlier in the window; he looks a fantastic prospect.

Not interested in changing Wanyama or Dembele and more than happy to have Dier or Winks deputising in case of injuries.

Paredes looks like a great player but not what we need. We are where we are now because we've given our own young talent a chance, so let's not put another roadblock in front of Winks.

Not to mention that this season we've learned that the defensive side of the team is more than strong enough, if we need reinforcements what we need are attackers with pace and skill to beat their man and break through the defensive lines, not another ball distributor passing it back and forth outside the penalty area.

I lost track of him when he left for Italy so I don't know how he's been playing. All I know is that they turned him into a CM. He was a #10 (an AMC) for Boca

He has the playmaking skills, but I don't know if he improved his defending.
He was likened to Riquelme at the time. I know those "new x" labels are always there, but he was similar enough to Riquelme in style, or at least that's what I thought atm

Like Riquelme, he uses his arms a lot to shield the ball when he's in possession
He´s a goalkeeper?
