If Parker can get Fulham to mid table or better over the next couple of seasons A Ledley / Parker management team looks a great prospect.

Whilst the fans love an ex-player being manager, I think it is an experiment that nearly always ends in failure, where the hearts lads the head. Chelsea fans will find this out with Lampard. If we are seriously a big club with intention to win the league then we should hire whoever is the best manager available. Hopefully Jose will be with us for a few years now and we'll win lots of trophies, but after him I'd expect us to go after someone like Naglesmann (if he keeps developing) or similar.

I'd rather Ledders was never Tottenham manager - he's only going to end up drummed out of the club, like so many before him, and his legacy will be tarnished.

Legend as a player, leave it there.

Indeed it's the same train of thought that every great player should become a coach. Coaching involves a completely different skillet to playing.

The same way that Lampard's legacy will get ruined, same for Ole.

I don't see him becoming a manager anyway.

Toby seems to have mastered
the King technique of staying on your feet
which Dier hasn't quite got yet
His slide in on Lukaku
gave away an unnecessary penalty in the Belgium game
and Pogba did the same to Davies in the Utd. game.
Sanchez at least is improving on this score.
I thought Toby played well in the Belgium game.

Can't find an Alderweireld thread.
Well not this century anyway

Spot on. Toby got tested a few times down the right of players running at him and he did well. Then again Dier was badly exposed by his team and If Toby was in that position would probably have struggled

A nice vid I found. The longest interview I've seen with Ledders - talks about how his knee issues affected his career, talks about his motivations and some of the managers he played for, as well as touching on Lasagnegate.

I really hope this is the plan. We already have the stadium and the training facilities. Now we need to get trophies under our belt. A winning mentality within the club. An even higher standing in world football. And then get the next young hungry manager with a modern and effective style of play to come in and take us even further. I'm hoping this would be someone like Nagelsmann. Could even be Sacramento...

Agreed. I try to view famous people as ordinary humans. I don't believe in celebrity culture and venerating people just because they happen to be actors or singers or footballers, etc.

However, with some Spurs players and former players, I can't help feeling a touch of affection for these people who, ultimately, I don't know and likely never will. I suppose if there's someone who's brought me enjoyment over the years and made me happy at times, it's natural to feel warmly toward them. And Ledley is certainly one of those.

He is as genuine as he comes across. I had the pleasure of a chat with him when he was a player at a Spurs function. Not for long enough. He had time for everybody that night. Unfortunately, some of the other more famous Spurs players were not so accommodating. Fond memories of me and my best mate in a photograph with Martin Jol.

Born as the second king of White Hart lane, but let us all be in no doubt. If he had not had his injuries he would have played his best years for RM or Barca and I for one would not had begrudged this. Although all his opponents rate him as one of the best defenders of his generation, this doesn't translate to the wider world.

Excellent interview, cheers for that. What a player. Love seeing him involved with the first team again.

Got to give credit to King after he came in. Imo our overall performance in defense has really improved.
