Amazing that he's 27 and apparently in the twilight of his career and being hung out to dry while Mason is just breaking through from our youth/U21 setup and he's 23... Not a slight on Mason or Lennon just obviously somethings not quite right somewhere.

Sounds like he needed the change for now but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he pulls on a spurs shirt again. He's still got a lot of football in him if he wants it.

True and they play in different positions with different skill sets and different attributes and we've given Lennon more than enough time to improve and he has done in fits and starts and at times was our best player for periods... I just really wouldn't be at all surprised if his best football is still to come as i already said, if he wants it.

I think he probably needed the change regardless mind.

It is surprising that he's so young I must say

I wonder what 'problems' he's got? (As itk'd a few times)

He does NOT look happy!

Putting another slant on it, maybe this will give him the kick up the arse he needs and he could come back for us next season and show the form he is capable of when his mindset is right? (Yeah I know being optimistic but he has the ability, he just needs to channel it more).

I agree that it's right that he is moved on now but most of his recent football has been played as a left (inverted) winger and he is not versatile or artful enough to suit the system. I'm sure if he had stayed as a right winger where he goes outside the full back and sends crosses in he would still be near the 1st team. I wish him well and expect this move will motivate him into playing some good football.

i believe there were some very big rumours regarding lennon, ade and kaboul all kicking up a stink and not liking Poch's tactics and basically they didn't want to try as hard as others. This was months ago and judging by kaboul and ade nearly going as well this looks like it was true. I expect all 3 will go in the summer.

Can you find the ITK that started these rumours? Or are they just a re-hash of the run-in between Ade, Benny and Villas-Boas?

ITK Update 9 suggested that there had been handbags between Kane and Ade after the Stoke game, with various players taking sides, Kaboul backing Ade, Mason and other younger players Kane. Pochettino supported the latter against his captain and vice-captain. Lennon is supposed to have taken Ade and Kaboul's side, then made his peace with the coach. He was certainly back in Pochettino's line-up and playing pretty well.

@iluvsteffenfreund posted last week that he'd heard Lennon's liking for clubbing the night away led to his missing at least one training session. Unsurprisingly, this left Pochettino seriously unimpressed, and Lennon was sidelined and pointed towards the door. Whilst this is still rumour, it fits the facts, and ITK suggesting unspecified problems; Lennon's known to be a committed party animal, and he's certainly had a very abrupt fall from grace since the Chelsea game.

I think he had/has a year or two playing at the top level left in him - not much more than that as his fundamental football skills have never matched his main asset - pace. I think the reasons for his departure are probably classified as "non footballing" - he's always had a top notch attitude since he's been at the club so probably it's more to do with concerns that he's going to be ever more prone to muscular injuries (groin and hamstring) and it'll be interesting to see how many games he can go at Everton before he breaks down.

The guy will always be an absolute legend to me and he was our main threat game in, game out before Bale. He developed a genuine affinity for the club while he was here and I wish him well at Everton and hope he does well enough to earn a contract there.
