No surprise at all to see Liverpool fans defending Elliot and laying into anyone else who suggests he should’ve been punished further, with most saying he shouldn’t have been punished at all.

Most of the replies I’ve seen range from ‘well to be fair it is Harry Kane he’s talking about so he’s 100% correct’ to ‘like no one else took the piss out of spastics when they were 16’ to ‘How the fuck can any yid complain when their own players are fucking each other’s wives behind their backs’

Even the non offensive remarks are just wrong. One person who received numerous ‘likes’ said ‘typical, 16 year old punished for taking the piss out of the FA’s golden boy but say something racist and they get off scot free’. I have no idea what he’s on about. If anything, Silva’s case is the opposite where lots of people are saying the FA are being too hard on him.

All the above are from Liverpool fans. Most of them have really gone to town on Kane. Really fucking gone to town. For every sensible post saying Elliot will learn from this etc, there are another 50 saying ‘Kane is an overrated diver who can’t talk properly and dribbles down his chin’ etc. And ‘if you think he’s world class then you seriously know nothing about football’, ‘He only scores penalties and even then he’s missed 2 for England’, ‘He offers nothing in any match except for tap ins and pens’.

It shouldn’t annoy me but it does. I can’t be arsed to respond as there are far too many but I wish I could hack into their accounts via Facebook and set off a real life virus that they contract from their keyboard and paralyses them instantly when they type something stupid. (I realise the irony of what I just typed btw but it’s my fantasy so I can’t be paralysed).

Why would anyone waste their life looking at a bindippers website?

Little scrot banned from football for a whole fourteen days:

How will he ever cope?

Should have sent him to work at a day centre for people with learning difficulties for a week.

Now I know that the racism problem is at a peak point at the minute but I actually don't see the big deal with that banner last night. I wouldn't call it a racist act. Genuine question, is it now not ok to compare people that are black to other black people any more?

My assistant at work is the spitting image of Dele Alli and we have said so in the office, to which he obviously took no offence whatsoever and actually tries to use it as a pulling mechanism when he is out. The fact of the matter is, if I were a footballer & my own fans put a picture up of something similar to last night then I would realise that it wasn't done with any malice.

Come on mate, it's fueling a racist stereotype.

Totally agree. It's much the same as the recent furore about Bernado Silva's tweet about Mendy, which was undoubtedly meant in a humerous and affectionate way, but which led to an immediate reaction from anti-racist campaigners demanding that BS get a significant ban. Fortunately, common sense kicked in, though not before he'd been forced to make a grovelling apology, to the FA - not his team-mate.

Didn't really answer my question to be honest. However, I disagree with your comment. So again, honest question, is me telling my mate he looks like Dele Alli fueling a racist stereotype?

Exactly, I think Stormzy and Lukaku look a like, but apparently I’m not allowed to say it nowadays as it means I’m saying ‘all black people look the same’.

Not at all, but saying there's nothing racist about that banner is wrong.
Are we talking about the same banner here?, the one with Origi's head stuck on the body of a bloke with a massive schlong?

Yeah that one, to be fair I really wouldn't mind a picture of my head being stuck on the body with a massive schlong! Would make a nice change :woot:

Pointing out a genuine resemblance is hardly the same as suggesting Origi must have a massive cock because he's black.

It is arguably falling more on the side of ignorance than overt racism, but it is certainly perpetuating a stereotype. It's along the lines of 'all Asians are good at maths' and 'all gay men can dance'. There are plenty of articles out there from black/Asian/gay people explaining why these supposedly positive stereotypes can be harmful.

Im not digging you out mate but that's part of the problem.
Tony Evans puts it into words better than I can:

No it's ok, I genuinely asked the question so a debate is good. Good article however this bit is way way way way over the top:

"The ‘play on words’ theory is also disturbing. It is not rational to think ‘big cock’ when you hear the name Divock. That should be enough to alert the authorities. There are some worrying antecedents from the past, though. "

Alert the authorities? That is ridiculous to immediately go to that level! A mate of mine (white guy) has the last name Dock, and we nickname him "cocky". This is because in our younger days he was Dock the Cock. I think this sentence also doesn't help the racist situation. I actually think that a white man who has never been in that situation should never go to such drastic lengths to say that someone should be help up infront of the authorities for saying something like that. Especially when it is said to all people, of all colour, all day every day!

This then causes a problem for people when they genuinely don't know what they can or cannot say to a black man or woman. I have lots of black friends and I joke with them in no different way than I do my white friends (we are all a bunch of p*sstakers, much like most blokes) but do I have to walk on eggshells around them in this day & age? They certainly wouldn't want me to, because they are aware that anything we joke about isn't said in a malicious way towards the colour of their skin.

I guess through all my ramblings, the question I think is did the Liverpool fans put that banner up to be racist towards Origi, the answer is clearly no.
