Four managers have beaten Liverpool at Anfield since Klopp took over, and they are Allardyce, Pardew, Van Gaal and Paul Clement.

Literally no manager currently employed by a PL club has beaten Liverpool at Anfield in the Klopp era. That's mad.

Liverpool players that have withdrawn from their national team squad this international break: Gomez, Salah, Henderson, Robertson, VVD. I bet all are fit for their next game though...

Personally think teams that continue to do this should be fined. It makes a mockery of it all. If I were a chairmen or manager then I’d be withdrawing almost every single player, especially as there is no penalty.

Yeah it's not on is it. Although says more about the player than the club if they are happy to disrespect their own nation.

Interesting that TAA is still there actually. I always got the vibe that he wasn't that fussed about England but that's the peril of trying to read body language for you.

He’s never really performed for England yet. Hopefully this changes. Liverpool players generally don’t reproduce their club form for England. Barnes and Gerrard being two great examples. Perhaps it’s the bitter, vile, backwater they play their football in, fair proportion of their fanbase make a thing about being scouse and not English etc

He was really quite bad tonight, wasn't he? It's weird because he's been on fire in the league and I thought he was good against Montenegro. I would agree with the sentiment that he hasn't performed well enough on a consistent basis for us to have nailed down an England FB spot yet.

And yeah, the whole "we're Scouse, not English" thing gets on my tits. It's like I know you guys got the rough end for a comparatively very short period of time in our country's history but so did a lot of the country -- basically everyone everywhere at some point or another. The vast majority of us never held any enmity towards Liverpool or tried to exclude them. Much of the north has as much "right" to feel aggrieved yet nobody else wants to annex themselves. The Scouse way of looking at things just feels petty and kinda saddening in the sense of its national disunity.

He doesn't have VvD to do all his defending for England. Trent is a very average defender, but unreal crosser.

Having watched yesterday's game, it was hard to escape the conclusion that TAA was only going through the motions.

Even against Montenegro, there were plenty of indications that his defensive frailties were being exposed, hence the subsequent media suggestion that he might be better employed in midfield.

Not sure about that.

Gerrard rarely got close to his club form for England. The Lampard/Gerrard thing didn't help but I always felt Fat Frank did a bit better. I think his best performances were in qualifying for the SA world cup when he played on the left, unfortunately come the tournament he didn't stick to it (tactics or he just didn't fancy it?) and he spent all the time in the middle unbalancing the team.
