He obviously thinks it is a release clause like the ones the Spanish clubs have for all players.

However when there is a clear breach somewhere, in that someone has made the clause amount aware to the Arse (thus the £40m and £1 bid) then that has to be a breach of something doesn't it?

If it is in his contract would Liverpool have to reveal a release clause if an enquiry was made?

imo, only if there is a mechanism in place within the contract stating that. Are all contacts agreed in tandem with a confidentiality agreement/clause? It may be seen as unprofessional or unethical for him or his agents to leak the release clause info but thats about it, no? Liverpool of course could or would take umbrage with this and act accordingly but and unfortunately, all is fair in love, war and business.....

He does not have a release clause and he IS allowed to talk to Arsenal... But Liverpool are allowed to refuse any bid because, IT IS NOT a release clause.

Its a bloody stupid clause though, allow your player to talk to another club and get excited and then feck everyone over? Daft. Either have a release clause or dont. This half way house stuff is crap.

It sounds to me like Liverpool stitched him up, he thought he had a release clause and the wording was a little different. What is the point of a talk clause?

Rodgers is such a cringeworthy bastard. He makes my skin crawl.

Had the misfortune to be in the company of a Liverpool fan yesterday. Like talking to a brick wall. Sturridge is as good as any striker in the league, Coutinho is world class, Mignolet is world class etc etc
He really didnt like it when I said Rodgers would be out of the job ith in 18 months and that he isn't the man to bring the glory days back!

The clowns comments about Arsenal are a joke.

I mean fancy making a £40 million bid for a player that they are interested in, the bastards!

Unless there is something written into the contract that states it can never be publicly revealed then I don't see a problem. That they offered £40,000,001 just implies that the wording of the clause said it was triggered by bids over £40m rather than bids of £40m and above.

Talksport's been gold this morning, they've finally realised suarez isn't an innocent persecuted victim but a nasty piece of work, slating him lol. Mickey quinn's said he's 'unscrupulous' and 'classless' for threatening to sue the club, he wasn't making such character assassination when he was racially abusing, diving and biting, clearly suarez isn't the only classless one

I have the misfortune of living near the Liverpool (send aid!). Roger's was on the radio this morning saying "why would we sell to our rivals?". Which is strange, as looking at the league table Everton and WBA are their closest competition. They're miles of challenging Arsenal.

Can we wait till Suarez moves to Madrid and the transfer window closes with Bale still in our squad before we continue laughing?

I'll not laugh at them. They get zero sympathy from me though. Those bastards were so fucking smug and smarmy when Berbatov and Carrick obviously had to move on from a "small club" like Spurs.

That's what hurts them the most. They knew this day was coming and they knew back when they were constantly scraping 4th that CL football and high wages were really what got them good players.

Not their exploits of a quarter century plus ago. Not because they're most specialist bestest eva club with the moistest super-special fans in da whole wide world. Well today is the reckoning boys. No hiding from it anymore. Your storied club has as much fucking pull as any club outside the cash cow that is the CL. Bill Shankly gets you precisely dick in 2013. Enjoy it you mewling fuckholes. Take a good sniff of reality and while you're at it, ram Glen Johnson and the £18m he cost you as far up your entitled rectums as is humanly possible.

Aaaaaand breathe.
