I think they are in proper trouble, they need a total rebuild job and probably need to spend north of 300m, the players they have are after crazy wages thanks to the terrible deal they gave Sanchez.

OGS is starting to show he really isn't a good manager, you can only remind players of the "traditions" of UTD for so long.

Pogba is a show pony they should sell to Madrid or Barcelona, he'd look great there as he can switch off for 80% of the games they play.

I would be surprised if OGS was still there at the end of next season and I don't think UTD fans are as on board with him as many think.

Watched last couple of United's games and keep seeing Lukaku on the wing? Surely best placed in the box on the end of crosses and not doing the crossing?

They are fascinating because they are so filthy rich, so fluffed by the mainstream sports media and so behind a team like City or Liverpool. If I didn't hate aforementioned clubs so much I'd venture to say that the irony was delicious.

More money to spend?

This is the strategy that they've been using for the past few years since Fergie and it really hasn't got them anywhere

I do agree that OGS isn't the man, he is clearly out of his depth and everyone knows it.

I think someone like Poch could have transformed that club like he did to us, he would have worked within a budget and coached the likes of Rashford, Martial, Lingard to improve to a higher level they are now...and he would have improved the mentality of the club but they ain't getting him so oh well :D

Maybe I should have said 300m+ on the right players, I don't know what their current youth prospects are like? Do they have a couple of CD's that are rated?

I think my point is that they have over relied on spending money just because they have it, they have constantly threw money at the problem (Sanchez wage for example) rather than having a long term strategy.

From what I hear Greenwood, Gomes, Borthwich-Jackson and Chong are their most highly rated - Greenwood especially.

I don‘t think they have a strategy other than we must win something now. I can’t see if they find a long term strategy OGS is the man to implement such a plan as he seems to neither the brain power or the ability to select the right players to bring the glory back. He is a man for now. He has done an excellent job getting them back in a reasonable challenging position for a CL place using emotion and patting on the back but that is his limit.

Greenwood's hat trick in the Youth cup against Chelsea was something else. I have some United fan colleagues who are absolutely creaming their pants about him, even though they're quite mellow and even critical of the club and the youth policy.

Hilarious how many pundits are now saying they’ll regret not trying to get Pochettino..... NOT TRYING TO GET HIM

Do they seriously think that Utd didn’t try to get Poch but were turned down.

They will have a hard time clearing out their deadwood I think. Considering how average they are and the money they pay them.

Will Ole be there next season?
I think there's a very small chance they'd sack him so soon as they'd look incredibly stupid after giving him a 3 year deal. Luckily their last 2 fixtures are against Cardiff and Huddersfield so hopefully he'll save enough face in those 2 games to renew a little hope.

Brilliant self sabotage by Utd. They'll find it harder to attract certain players with Ole in charge and I guarantee he'll be off by Christmas, by which point they will have wasted a summer and find it hard to get the manager they want. Absolute perfect set up circumstances for us with Zidane going to Madrid too.

It would be hilarious if Cardiff got a result against them!?
