"I cannot say for sure we are going to sign anybody, and as each day passes, I get more depressed. There's no point saying otherwise. We'll go a little bit more, but we can't pay double what you value a player at. We haven't got the money; the club would go bankrupt. These are difficult times."

That's what I was thinking. We're paying over £30m a season for our stadium and they're paying £2m. Covid won't impact other stadium events for them because they don't have any. Where is their TV money going? Are their wages really that high?

I think their wages are fairly high for their league positions.

When they signed him I remember thinking that's just about the most cliché West ham signing ever and he's not disappointed
